Because it was unfinished. It went through development hell, at times having to be completely scrapped and starting again from nothing due to a console generational change during the 10+ years of development.

The dev team sunk so much time and money into trying to finish it that they were eventually told by higher-ups that they had to start charging for the new content and then inevitably pull the plug and let it die where it was, well before they could finish making all of the content they had planned.

There was a whole other region that was planned to be in the game and all we saw was what got passed through during the train ride section. It really sucks knowing what could have been if they only had more time and less problems earlier in development.

Yes I say it is worth completing the game because there is content only accessible post game. Like the rest of the hunts, Omega, the final Armigus weapon (dungeon), New game plus. I didn't know that a lot of content was taken out though.....damn shame it is.

Like the previous poster said above

Very frist story lines was a bit more interesting then what we got
This was soppouse to release on ps3

We really didnt need a feature CGI movie, anime or really comrades
That one could at lest waited

--
The walled off tunnel up near meldico
we were soppouse to go threw it
There should be a few pictures with the road stretch of road
In past magazines

After Altissia
it was said to be a driveing segement to the station to Balouve Mines
rather then the train segment to station to Balouve Mines

Version 1.0 of ff15 had no new game plus or chapter select
Which followed with a 20gig patch
Nifs patrolling at the leidium base
Nifhilem Road blocks in Vesperpool

-

The day of Aranea dlc details were going to be announced by dev stream

They announced further development of future FfXV would stop
Ending 3/4 dlcs and modding tools

a few hours after Hajime Tabata resigned from square

Such a shame eh, even with all that I still consider this a Gem on it's own. Despite the shortfalls it was a great adventure for me. :er_heart:
Imagine if it was finished... Wow, greatest game ever, would be up there with Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3 hall of fame, or something along the lines.

Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy

They overstretched Nomura by having him direct like 8 different projects at once, and this game ended up suffering for it. So around 2013, they did a development reboot, replaced Nomura as director with Hajime Tabata, and told him to redo the game in 2-3 years. He did well for what he was given, but Square upper management has been a disaster making stupid decisions for around 20 years now.

This was the start of the downfall of Final Fantasy. Even this one sold fairly poorly. And everything since has done far worse. Final Fantasy as we used to know it is dead and the sales show it.

No. The remake didn't even sell well and rebirth is doing insanely bad.

People love RPG's and Final Fantasy. But the way they have done them since FF15 is nothing like Final Fantasy rpg's lol Hence the poor sales.
