Why Did They Remove The Assassin's Creed Quest?

I didn't know about this, but Final Fantasy 15 had a Assassin's Creed crossover. There was a new location, new quests, new items, and even new mechanics. These all sound terrific. Sadly these were removed except for Altair's outfit. Why did Square get rid of these? This isn't even a free to play game. Why get rid of something so awesome as this crossover? Square, please bring it back and make it permanent on all platforms.

Wait, these are not in the Royal/Complete Edition? I was under the impression that all of the time limited stuff like the Platinum Demo, Chocobo Carnival, etc are in the Royal Edition, which is the version Steam got?

None of them are All of them are lost, besides the Chocobo Carnival as that one as a mod the others are gone
