Is using Ragnarok in the early game kinda like cheating?
I found the weapon in my inventory and it feels kinda op when im using it. It's my first playthrough

I think it came from dlc or something. I know the Gae Bolg is from ff14 anyway.
I did not use those items until I found weapons that were the same strength, it is not cheating just overpowered at that point.

It's absolutely an DLC weapon, and I strongly advise not to use it in the early (and even later) game. It's much too strong, and it frankly spoils early game play.

I noticed that myself lucky enough very early in the game, so I made a list of all the stuff in the DLC (yes there is much more than only weapons, and you can read that on the store page and with some search with Google). Then I started a new game from scratch, and made sure not to use those items. That way you experience the game on the difficulty level it was meant to have. The only DLC stuff you cannot chage is the reduced price of everything.

The ragnarok satys OP for the whole game. I would recommend never using it. The Ultima Blade (the 2nd best sword, which you can get early on, may ch3). Ourdoes it for baser damage, but the ragnarok warp strike will do 9999 damage even against more challenging bosses. I don't use it ever now.

Really? That doesn't surprise me.. I kinda hate it when games put op stuff in your inventory without an option to disable it.

Yeah, I know the Windows edition comes with all the Base game dlc, but I really would've liked if they had released the base game with all the DLC as seperate add-on packs that you could tick on or off in the Steam library page. That would've been great. I'm sure a modder will make it happen sometime though.

Considering how easy it is to get some very powerful weapons in the first three chapters it's entirely how much you yourself consider it to be cheating.

Ragnorak is not overpowered, the weapon was a piece of s***.

It gives very early access to 9999dmg warp strike spam. That is pretty damn powerful for a weapon you start with.

I guess i wont be using ragnarok then. How about the other DLC weapons like Masamune, Gae Bolg and Mage Mashers?

I've never had 9999dmg warp strike at the beginning of the game, that started to happen in later chapters. About chapter 9, at least for me anyway.

Well - If you want to play on "easy" then you can use them, but if you really want to earn more powerful weapos by working for it, I suggest to not use any off them (and that also goes for that insane armor and rings and amulets). At the end it's your game, and you have to choose how you want to play it, but I refuse to make the early game play too easy for me (yes - I am going to replay this game for sure).

Ragnorak does 2080dmg at the beginning of the game.

alright

Don't listen to them, they're the ones that would give you a rock and tell you to fight them while they're holding a gun to you.
