Error "directx11 initialized fault. it may does not have dx11 hardware"

I installed the game yesterday and although I'm aware my graphic card is not the best I was still hoping I could run the game on my computer. Here are my specs.

Windows 10 Home 64bits
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz and 6GB RAM
DirectX 12

I mostly find it weird that it says directx 11 has a fault since I use directx 12. Out of all the possible problems I didn't think this would be one... <=/

Is there any way I can play the game with my current specs by fixing this error? (I don't mind playing in the worst graphics possible either if it would get the game to work)

I went to the /2015 however when I tried to install the vc_redist it tells me "Setup failed 0x80070666 - Another version of this product already exists (...)".

I went to the "aplications and functionalities" to see if I had it installed and, although it's in the FFXV folder, the 2015 redistributable doesn't appear when I look for it in the applications (even though all the other visual c++ redists appear like 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2017).

I don't want to uninstall the other redistributables since I don't know if it would fix the issue or not, or if I even should. From what I gather from the logs from the "Setup Failed" this might have to do with the redist 2017 version I have in my computer. (which I don't know what it's used for tbh)

Just found this online. "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2017:14.11.25325.0 2017 will uninstall 2015 if 2015 is installed already. You can't have both 2015 and 2017 installed at the same time."

Might be the reason it failed... Should I remove the 2017 one? Is there a way to know what it is connected to?

your memory is 6gb ram and min. is 8gb ram. its possible that you dont have enough memory to open up the door to start with...your running out of it before even getting started? that being said you have amd or nivida? if nivida make sure under physx processor you have geforce one selected not the cpu one. this game runs on directx11 dont know if it would run on directx12 one or not.

In your listed specs you don't say what video card your laptop has. There are two parts to DirectX. One is having the version needed or newer installed, since you have DX12 that aspect is covered. However you also need a graphics chip capable of using the required version too. While I can't say for sure since you don't say which chip is in the PC, I suspect that is your problem.

I should add given the age of the CPU in that laptop, even if you get it running I don't think it will run well enough to play.

Thats the CPU, the PC's main processor. Download a program called GPU-Z to easily find out which graphics chip is in the laptop.

However like I mentioned previously its doubtful its going to run well even if you get it running. The CPU is below the minimum specs listed and given the age of the laptop I suspect the rest is too.

Assuming you haven't had it running for 2 hours or over I think you're probably best getting a refund on it if you bought it directly through steam. Then you can maybe buy it again later if you ever get a better PC. It will probably be cheaper by then too.

Thanks so much for the comments! I will try to get the full specs on my computer when I get home today. As for the computer, it's a bit old, yeah ^^; 7 years by now. I saw the benchmark for the game (potato versions included and got somewhat hopeful).

As for the Computer, I "might" get a new one later down the year so I at least wanted to have the game in my library. plus, it was just 33 euros ^^ I could afford that =)

The GT550M does support DX11 but it is well below the minimum requirements. You should make sure it's trying to boot using that, though, and not the integrated Intel graphics. The 550M is still better.

I think as long as you make sure it's using the 550M it should at the very least launch the game, I wouldn't make any guarantees of performance though.

your current graphic card to weak for this and probably alot of current(future) games; so yeah need upgrade when you want later. but i would advise yu to read up and ask gaming commiunity for advice before shopping if you planning to getting into gaming in the future. there so many different kinds of pc/lap out there in so many prices.
