problem: ring of the lucii spell magic alterna

I have that ring but I can't make that attack he made at the end of the video. owe more magic or what. I use the controller of the x box one and then I hit the right buttons. you can help me

Hold lock on + warp strike buttons for a few seconds with full MP.
This spell can randomly miss. High level enemies especially non-daemons have low success rates. In this video he just got lucky.

and what keys should I press on the joystick x box one to make that move there

Depends on your settings. Whatever you use for warp strikes while not hanging, just hold those 2 buttons. It should be RB+Y assuming you have default control type A and didnt remap buttons in Steam.

The "tutorial" when you got the ring told you how to use that attack. I'm pretty sure there is info available in game when you have the ring that also tells you how to use that attack.

Just realize that the vast majority of the time you use that attack it does not activate that result. The video just shows the rare result that can 1 shot enemies that aren't immune to it.

I've had it take over 100 attempts to activate on adamantoise before. I've also had it go off on the first attempt. It's all RNG. Either way it's faster than trying to kill him with weapons or other magic.

Supposedly the chance of activating is based somewhat on magic stat so you can use gear and food buffs to increase your magic if you want. Personally I liked using XP boost gear and food because it's a fairly nice method of gaining XP without expending rare resources on XP magic.

Killing adamantoise with the ring is definitely faster than killing omega to get a rare metal to get limit break as shown in that video.

You really expect that someone asking how to trigger the ring instakill on adamantoise is going to have rare metal?

The tutorial is only missable if you deliberately decide to skip a portion of the game.

If an enemy is strong, it may not K.O. them but if you weaken them, it will poof them. Often on hunting missions even if your fighting multiple iron giants, it will remove all but one if they're all caught inside it.

It's usually when one of the guys says something like "We're on the home stretch now." or "Not much life left in him."

It's nice to one-shot an iron giant when you just want to get in the car and drive.

Just took down the Adamantoise using the death spell using the ring of Lucii. Wasn't sure if it would work but once it dropped to 2/3 health or so... poof. Was hoping to finish it off with Alterna. Poor turtle looked like a pile of sticks because of the ring.

Adamantoise cannot be killed by that spell, it was patched years ago.

You'll have to show an official source for this claim as the last time I fought it (admittedly a year to a year and a half ago) the ring still killed adamantoise.
