I have however fixed it and the game is running pretty great now.
I set the game as an exception in Windows Defender and my antivirus program.
Edit: I installed SpecialK and the stuttering was pretty much fixed.
Edit 2: It still stutters, and pretty bad during combat. VRAM seems to be in 100% usage a lot. I have a 4 GB card.
Edit 3: I fixed most of the stutter outside of loading into a level for the first time by going to SpecialK overlay, Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition tab and changing the vsync emulation thread and swapchain flip thread both to normal priority.
What TRAM setting are you using? I suggest no more than "medium" with this much VRAM.
I have everything set to average. The game runs fine for me now, I have a GTX 1650 4GB and 16 GB RAM. I just had to use SpecialK to help. I fixed it by going to Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition tab and changing the vsync emulation thread and swapchain flip thread both to normal priority. The only hitching that remain are upon loading into a save (level is loading so it stutters a bit but clears up quickly), sometimes walking to the diner at Hammerhead causes it but only once so far. Combat overall seems smoother than before, barely any hitching that is noticeable.
It's okay enough for me now but I wish they could fix it further.
How though? My special K isn't working at all with FFXV
It isn't? How come? I downloaded a fresh copy of SpecialK and it seems to work just fine.
If you wanna play the game better you can pay for Xbox Gamepass and play FFXV, and plenty of other games. Windows Store version doesn't have this issue.
I might have fixed it. I used SpecialK and changed those priorities and then disabled Steam Overlay. Stutters are completely gone now.
Idk, if you want to then go ahead.
Are you using windows 7? Special K only works with Windows 10.
