the summit quest not triggering

Have I hit a game breaking bug or is something simple I havent done.

I walk to the waypoint and nothing is happening, there is also no button prompt showing up.

reload your game, same thing happened to me. I think it's because I used the boat and went off exploring before going to that quest. I don't remember if I closed the client or not, but saving and quitting, then coming back made the npc spawn

yeah forgot to update here, CJ's solution in that thread worked, it seems if you go off and do other sidequests, and then go back to altissa, the guy doesnt spawn you need to talk to. Saving and reloading whilst in altissa fixes it.

It doesn't for me... I talked to the barman (don't remember his name) then went to the hotel. I don't remember even having the marker for the quest. So I searched the internet for a fix. Tried the go to the past, reboot the game thing... Doesn't work I spend many saves (hunts and arena) in Altissia and always checked if the marker reappeared. Spoiler alert it never did.
I really don't want to begin the game from scratch because it would feel like an undiserved punishment...

Did someone find a mod or another way to fix this issue?

when i was ready to do summit quest, i moved notics back alittle from the gate and saved game then reloaded saved/turn game off then back on. sometimes it take more then one try for the guard to appear at the center of the gate. hmmm dont remember but if there is examine spot there use it before you move notics and save game.

Actually I didn't notice, but I could reload a save that I made right before taking the boat to Alitssia... Still that is 5 hours of progression lost (arena, hunt went to the past a little). I went from 37hours to 32 :'( (You'll understand do everything all over wasn't an option).
Another question I ask myself: after you do the Summit, you go to that desertic area and one of your character is not as efficient in combat as before, I still want to do thos hunt and arena stuff, will I be able to come back to that quickly?
