Are companions Teamwork abilities worth investing AP on?
I believe they are additional normal attacks that the AI will randomly chose and perform, am I correct? If so, are they worth investing AP on?

They're kinda cheap, but still I'd rather not waste any AP!

These are probably the most helpful combat abilities to spend your points on for early (first 30 levels) combat.

Well, I'm a bit past that(lvl59, chapter 4), but still I'm interested now! Why is that?

Yes and yes some more.

They are not random, they occur when certain conditions happen, and those conditions happen quite a lot.

Edit: if you read their descriptions it should be fairly self explanatory. >.>

Definitely worth buying if you'd like your teammates to be (more) useful during combat.

Hell yeah, I prioritized Techniques and Teamwork specifically. The combat becomes a LOT better when your teammates can fight with all of their arsenal.

Have you ever heard your buddies say " tell us what to do"! That's because they are usually just standing there, hitting the enemy, maybe, a couple times. These abilities you're talking about make them exponentilaly more useful in combat. Spend the 20 AP and see for yourself.

Equip a gun and look at the dps it deals. That's basically what prompto is doing when he's not using skills or anything. Basically, it's pathetic, you should get the skills. The AP investment for those skills are nothing, you shouldn't feel bad about spending points on them. If you want, make a separate save slot, buy the abilities and maybe upgrades for them, do some hunts and see if you like it or not. If not, load your old save
