Car different colors?

Why is the car purple and not black? then it is white and purple in the rain

I think by default, the car comes with a decal on it. It's one of those decals/paint jobs that some cars have in real life where the color shifts depending on the angle that you view it from. Take it off, and pick the car's color for yourself and it should be consistent.

The car has no decal on it by default. But if you tell Cindy to fix it up after killing the mutant dualhorn she'll put one on then.

Other than that, the car does change colors a bit depending on lighting/weather lighting and reflection situations, no matter what color you put on it (no decals). Rain changes it the most.

All that junk was on the console too...although some of them were 50 cent dlc purchases.

Then customise the colour and remove the decal.

The decal in question has a platinum reflective paint on the roof/bonnet that appears to look white in rain and silver in sunlight because of it's relfective properties.
