Don't think so. That said, as long as you're moving, you never have to fight them. It's periodically annoying when you're in an area searching for a glowing dot and you just can't find it and the stupid dropships keep coming, but that actually happens pretty rarely.

It's bad in chapter 3, once you start taking out bases, the drops become less frequent.

you just can run past them or "escape" the fight. it is the same behavior like in older FF´s. you encounter enemies while exploring the world, you can choose to fight or leave. same happens here. if you run around in circles, they keep coming like it should cause my guess is - that behavior seems to look like you are searching fights ^^.

It is very annoying... especially when you are doing a hunt or fighting daemons

A couple of days ago I was fighting for around ~45 min I think. I went on a night hunt which was 5 levels below me, so it was hunting+imperials NON STOP (really, I think there were like 3-5 waves of them) + daemons. This is NOT funny.

On the one hand, it makes sense that Noctis and his entourage would be high priority targets that the empire would aggressively pursue. I like that it adds an element of "we're on the run" and that the empire has some actual presence in the world. Sometimes, this creates more chaotic encounters which is more fun. On the other hand if they can track them that well, why not send something better, more/all at once? And it can get monotonous and is kind of annoying for the gameplay, particularly when questing/exploring/farming and the player can't pick up shinnies during combat.

Just make a bunch of magic bombs and save them for when drop ships come by. If you make them all really potent one bomb will kill everyone the moment they drop. then you can be on your marry way.:pixelnoct:

That's supposed to happen, and it takes a LOT less than 2 minutes from a new one to come if you actually kill it.

If you're doing post game stuff you'll get to farm these a lot trying for one of the best accessories in the game so it's pretty convenient in the end.
I like it, and because of these dropships, I farmed no less than 28.000+ AP points and got max drops from them, even the second edition of the Magitek suit. You should try it. It's fun.

In fact it's not enough for me to just kill dropship troopers but I also use the respawn enemies whistle all the time.

It's a Final Fantasy game. Non stop encounters. What did u expect? How else are u going to max out all your stats if there's no enemies to farm?

Yeah I had them dropping in on me whilst I was caught in the middle of no where at night. I had an Iron Giant spawn on me with a couple Arachne queens and decided to take them on (Level 20 - Chapter 3). Things were going great except that the Arachne Queens just kept respawning and respawning... Next thing I know I'm being shot from every direction - Yep, Imperial dropships right on top of me.

So then it was an Iron Giant, never ending respawns of Arachne Queens, little Arachnids spawning from the queens and then Imperial dropship crews dropping in every minute or so. The radar was a sea of red dots and poor Prompto couldn't stay up for more than 5 seconds so I just gave up and left him downed.

Took about 30 mins but finally cleared ALL of it out. It was about 3 am (gametime) by then and my crew was wrecked. Everyone's max HP (except Gladio - dude is f'ing invincible) was down to a fraction of their normal. I felt good about my victory... For about 30 seconds and then ANOTHER Iron Giant started spawning. I said to hell with that and ran. Thankfully dawn broke a few minutes later.

The nighttime spawns in the game are a bit aggressive. As are the Imperial dropships. It can be fun but also a bit overwhelming at earlier levels sometimes. I'm sure once I'm higher level and can wipe the floor with most of these enemies it won't really matter. But I don't like using fast travel and getting stuck out in the middle of no where when nighttime comes at my current level can get crazy fast.

On that note, I think the Imperial dropships would be way cooler if they actually got tangled up in fights with the other enemies. Like monsters and Daemons. I think it's silly that these big bad monsters and Daemons totally ignore the Imperial troops around me. As if they work for the Imperials too. Would be awesome if the Imperials dropped in on my fights and started getting tangled up and mauled by the monsters and daemons. Would add a nice realistic flair to those situations. Would also be fun to lure Imperials into traps like that.

When do you get the respawn enemies whistle?

After you go for a drive with Ardyn towards the Archaean and you camp together.

Awesome, thanks! I'm still only at the beginning of Chapter 3. I've been taking it very slow and exploring every nook and cranny of the world. Absolutely loving the game. I feel like a lot of what the game is missing in direct story telling is made up by the lore notes and details scattered all over the world. There is stuff hidden literally everywhere!

Fantastic, that's how we're supposed to play all games! Did the exact same thing. No rush.

Ive actually realised there are scripted hidden points where it spawns the imperials if you walk on them, I found one, and I tested it by killing all those spawned low level imperials then walk over that hidden trap and it spawns a ship right at the exact same location. such immersive gameplay!
