Upgreadable weapons Cid not caling back

As title says i've been trying to upgrade the various upgradable weapons but apparently cid never calls me back to tel me he has finished one of those, even tho i did 10-15 hunts and quests and gave him the materials
I have grinded something like 30 levels with only managing to complete the Engine Sword to Ultima Blade but the lance,the saw and a few others are still at rank I-II, days have passes and still no call from the old geezer

Stupid question, but have you tried camping/sleeping at an inn? That's when Cid normally calls after you've done the one to three hunts/quests required.

Only the lance and the engine blade have more than 1 upgrade (I to II)

The rest either go to "name II" or "name B"

You need to camp or rest then he should call you

the fact that i stated that i made 30 lvls should clearly give away the fact that i have indeed slept and rested multiple times over the last couple days but cid has yet to call, made from rank 2 to rank 4 of the hunter clan and completed a few chain quests like the dogtags and the engineer at lestallum

Except there are points in the game where you're forced to level up, even if you don't rest, so no, it doesn't give anything away.

Two side quests and then camp/stay at an inn.

(Make sure to have your nixexperience ring equipped if you're saving exp.)

Well I made 30 lvls in one rest so it looks normal.

Some other people do 50-60 LVL in one go by waiting until chapter 9 inn with X3 exp.

Resting at camp is only for leveling up skill not experience level.

Not that it should normally matter, but if it's behaving oddly - did you try traveling far far far away from him and camping/resting there? or the other way around, resting at the camp right behind Hammerhead?

Or .. did you do all those quests and only rest once? I think some of the upgrades require more than one rest, not just the hunts.

at least a week went by and 2-3 rests

Do a hunt in Hammerhead three times, and then rest at the campground just north of Hammerhead. That should get him to call back.

Resting at hotels etc doesnt make him call only resting at Camps. Usually did 1 hunt and then camped to get him to call me.

The number of hunts/side quests you need to do is dependent on what you're upgrading. Nothing requires more than three hunts/side quests, so to be sure you get the callback after giving him the parts do three easy hunts, then rest at a campground.
