Cactuars Oh Cactuars! Where art thou?
Seriously guys, I've seen multiple videos about Cactuar grinding by Hammerhead. I've tried everything but I've yet to see even one! Is this a new patch or what? I needs me's sums Cactuars! =;/ .

Set your PC time ahead a day and start the game and see if you get the cactuar timed quest and grind it

if the timed quest isn't the "kill 100 cactuar" quest set the time forward another day, rinse and repeat

I've found many cactuars while farming AP where there randomly spawned with enemies I summoned. but I don't know of any major impact on EXP after that fight.

they are pretty easy. 1000 needle is tricky if you are low level though. But nothing a potion wont fix

just finished a run gave me 200k exp. exosuit with 2 moogle charms and the lasagna dish didn't make any expericast magic tho. so no idea how much more exp you get. 100 to kill tho 10 mins each.

The cactuar quest was some days ago, believe those cactuars give around 1200 exp normally due to me getting around 130,000 exp for one battle without boosters. If they do pop up I suggest using Promptos gravity skill, helps a lot because it will drag them in easily and it stays a while too.

Yea i want the cactuar needle for the upgrade but also for the experience points.

Funny enough, I've actually encountered those moose(mooses?Meeses?Moosi?) before and they were HUGE. two of them. I killed both of them but I forgot how much EXP they gave me and where exactly I was when I encountered them. Maybe I'll try to farm them too. thanks.

The best/most reliable way to farm XP is the Bandersatch expericast farm. Got about 900k-1mil in an hour or so. Then rested in Altissia with the x3 hotel. Cannot reccomend it enough.

Sure. But collecting the coins and such is needed which takes another hour or such.
Farming kujatas at night gives between 14.000 to 28.000EXP (no charm no Expericast no EXP-food) forcing a fight every two minutes.
You can up the EXP gathered with food if you can take them without needing specials (I need equaliser to kill them). Means I'm getting 420.000 to 840.000 EXP without RNG for these coins.

I jumped from level 50 to almost 100 after farming the cactuar timed question for a couple of hours. Frankly, I'd think it's easier to wait for them to reappear on the timed question than to slowly farm them elsewhere,
