There is a Cactuar in an abandoned imperial base in the Hammerhead area where you're sent to pick up some parts for the car from Cindy, I can't remember the exact area but if you follow her sidequests to upgrade the car you will find a Cactuar along the way.

As for grinding them though, dunno anything about that.

They are north east between Hammerhead and the base. generally. I sometimes see them across the street from Hammerhead too.

Northern area of hammer head about 600ft out, has about a 10% chance of spawning a day, Save and wait 10 mins, if it dosn't spawn reload.

But if you don't need it's needles it's more effective to just play the game till chapter 3, grab the Stacked Ham Sandwich recipe for 50% exp boost and come back to grind on imperial drop ships using the nix ring to save up exp.

Then sleep in 2x hotel by the sea for massive level boosts.

If you want AP and cash you can use the DLC fishing pole to catch some boss fish on south eastern side of the sea side resort. The fish drops are worth about 1k each and you wont feel bad about using the DLC pole after one or two of those fish kick your ass.

Yea I tried grinding Cactuars but since I couldn't find them, In Ch.3, I just did the most side missions I could, which is ALOT, and used the 2x hotel and didn't sleep in game for like 20 days. I reached level 56 before I continued to the Crater area. BUT i feel like the side mission are about to end, because I did pretty much every side quest Possible in Ch.3, besides a couple mission I couldn't reach yet, and feel like the rest of the game won't have enough to make me reach to level 100. Idk, it's kinda an OCD type thing on my part.

There is a place where at night there are 2-4 Giant mooses giving 14.000EXP (for two enemies) I used that place to farm an hour to get from 700.000 EP to 1.05Mio EXP.

they dont always spawn. you have to keep trying. Why do you want them? Do you need a Needle for the upgrade?

I love them and it's easy to kill them if your level 1 and eat the foot with Midgarsomr. (350 Strength, 1000 Health, Equaliser: The bigger the level difference the higher the damage done to the enemy.)
Kill them, save, load, kill them again, save, load,....

I'm not finished with the story yet. I just wanted to point that out that it's possible to farm. How much EXP is a cactuar run and how long does it take?
