Just saw this post on reddit. 3 months ago.
https://www.reddit.com/r/FFXV/comments/edd4bx/steam_pc_players_we_are_getting_a_patch_to/
There is a potential patch being QA'd and it seems to have been delayed. probably due to corona virus it seems as white day was on 14th march and the only reason it is not released yet could be due to tht.
This patch might fix the stutters and other issues with the steam api.
Dude, I know this is an old post but you are amazing. I was ready to request a refund when I stumbled upon your reply and it took the game from unplayable to running perfect. Thank you!
Most of the issues are fixable, but by yourself unfortunately. With the mod, using the mod to set threading correctly and with setting Power to Performance (FFXV of some reason is defaulted to Optimal Power, which causes insane stuttering on even high-end desktop).
This is quite common for Asian games. PC gaming isn't a major market there, it's just recently it's become a competitor to consoles.
Many Japanese games doesn't even come with a resolution option. I was amazed to see FFXV actually has ULTRAWIDE support. That is absolutely amazing compared to most other Asian made games.
Basically it boils down to, developers in Asia knows absolutely nothing about how to develop for PC. And they probably will struggle for many more years ahead, because it's still not a major priority. They are and will probably always be focusing on consoles first.
This, I'm curious to know, I haven't used SK all that much.
In your GPU settings. NVIDIA, it's in the NVIDIA Control Panel, 3D-Settings - Program Settings, Add Final Fantasy XV, Power Management Mode, Prefer Maximum Performance.
Yeah I've had my GPU set to Max Performance for a long time, it hasn't done much for this game, I was more asking about Special K settings lol
