So basically nothing's gonna happen.

Just saw this post on reddit. 3 months ago.

I will believe it when I see it. Dont get your hopes up. It is almost the same message except now they are not even mentioning a patch. The stuttering was introduced in 1.26 and they released patches after that. So they basically ignored the problem and the last update is almost a year old.

30 fps? Srsly? :D Anything lesser than at least 100 fps is ♥♥♥♥. 60 - maybe can be playable to someone, but lesser... Madness
lol please tell me your joking.. on release back when 1080ti was the top card people were playing this at 4k at 30 fps...and 1440p at 60..and you say 60 is maybe playable...joker

There is a potential patch being QA'd and it seems to have been delayed. probably due to corona virus it seems as white day was on 14th march and the only reason it is not released yet could be due to tht.
This patch might fix the stutters and other issues with the steam api.

Hello everyone! I created a paging file from 12288 starting and 12288 ending. I have tried various battles, day, night, rain ... stuttering has decreased by 90 percent .. it was already present as a solution around the web, if you weren't familiar I hope it will work for you too. If you use an SSD, it is advisable to create the file on another traditional hdd. ;)

For what it's worth: disabling Control Flow Guard (CFG) in Windows 10 App Security settings and adding an exception for the game's exe file in Bitdefender Antivirus seemed to resolve all stuttering for me.

Dude, I know this is an old post but you are amazing. I was ready to request a refund when I stumbled upon your reply and it took the game from unplayable to running perfect. Thank you!

If it's still not fixed months later, you should re-send them a message

Yes, one more message will DEFINITELY change their minds despite they already have tens of thousands. SURE.

It honestly blows my mind that this game is still suffering from performance issues 2 years after launch lmao what a waste

Most of the issues are fixable, but by yourself unfortunately. With the mod, using the mod to set threading correctly and with setting Power to Performance (FFXV of some reason is defaulted to Optimal Power, which causes insane stuttering on even high-end desktop).
This is quite common for Asian games. PC gaming isn't a major market there, it's just recently it's become a competitor to consoles.
Many Japanese games doesn't even come with a resolution option. I was amazed to see FFXV actually has ULTRAWIDE support. That is absolutely amazing compared to most other Asian made games.

Basically it boils down to, developers in Asia knows absolutely nothing about how to develop for PC. And they probably will struggle for many more years ahead, because it's still not a major priority. They are and will probably always be focusing on consoles first.

This, I'm curious to know, I haven't used SK all that much.

Can you tell me where you changed this? Is there a specific power setting for FFXV?

In your GPU settings. NVIDIA, it's in the NVIDIA Control Panel, 3D-Settings - Program Settings, Add Final Fantasy XV, Power Management Mode, Prefer Maximum Performance.

Yeah I've had my GPU set to Max Performance for a long time, it hasn't done much for this game, I was more asking about Special K settings lol
