AP farming not working?
Am I the only one who cant get the AP farming methods described online to work? I'm level 99, Chapter 9, just made the push and am gathering exp for another push as far as I can get towards 120, but in the mean time, I'm working on AP and have tried both of the 3 valleys training methods and have only gotten about 10-15 AP per fight via the timed fight, and a max of 3 AP per fight with the standards 3 valley method. I was under the impression you got 1 AP per monster killed, but for some reason, I'm being cheated out of most of the AP I should be getting.

Thoughts?

AP per kill is only if Noct. lands the actual killing/death blow with a Warp Strike/Parry - maybe the Blindside too, can't remember. If the bro's get the killing blow instead, no AP for that one, and something like Gladio's "showtime" aoe attack or Prompto's first-shot can mess things up, stuff like that.

This was one reason why, if I knew I planned to AP farm in the future, I wouldn't get some of those bro-helper nodes (not the Techniques, but those things they'll do automatically). Alternatively, you just have to be very fast at warp striking them all to death before the other bro's even have a real chance to react.

In terms of beast-whistle and smaller dog farming, +3 from wearing the accessories and 1 for each dog (each group spawn only has around 4 or 6 of them IIRC) is normal. It's your killing speed that dictates how much AP per hour you'll get (I can usually do around 700-800 an hour or during the daytime period - used to be higher but they added in a bit of a delay with beast whistle).

Edit: I use a different spot than 3 valleys so the dog numbers may be different, not sure. Edit Edit: I don't use the justice shield, either

Oh...also...maybe your timing is just off. If you kill them before the combat music starts (indicating actual combat has begun) it doesn't count either. So if they're spawning and you just immediately attack this might happen because the game can be slow about that. Wait a few seconds.

Ill try all of this. I just realized I remembered a tip about equipping low tier weapons on all your guys so you can land the killing blows. But I am still wondering. I remember doing only about 10 ap for the one timed mission I did most recently, but I do know for sure I killed at least 20 by myself without my party members doing that much.

Still seems silly that you cant get AP from your party members killing things. Feels like they are making this unnecessarily complicated. Also annoys me that I cant repeat timed quests in the same day for additional QP AND, all the good QP rewards that used to be up there are now gone and replaced by a handful of rather crappy ones.

There is a much easier way to farm AP. Here a link to the article: https://expguides.com/

did you read the article OR my post? seriously... the above method is the one Im saying doesnt seem to work for me. I actually quit playing because it seemed they nerfed the AP growth and I have so many other games Id rather play than grind pointlessly for the AP I wanted to take down the adamantoise.
