how do you get AP from warp striking ?

im sure i had that before , i got one for warpstriking an enemy , everytime ,but none of the starting items does that , was that a bug or what did i do differently , im 100% sure i had something that made me get AP from using (spaming ) warpstrikes , i got tons of ap from some missions

Also I believe you need to use sword or spear (plus royal arms?)

As in, if you use a greatsword or anything else, it won't work. Perhaps I'm crazy.

No, it works with everything. Daggers, 2H, Royals. I think even with guns.

guess that explains why i didnt get it
in the file where i was grinding i killed weak monsters that died in 1 warp strike even at full health , not quite on that level , since im in chapter 1 in my new file and just started getting some skilltree things so far
