Episode Ardyn Bug??

I'm playing through Ep Ardyn and gotten to Insomnia but something is off - when I fight the guardians, they just won't die? No matter how many times I use Demonification, they just. Keep fighting.

Am I the only one with this bug? It's really taking out the fun out of the entire experience, up until these mini bosses I've really enjoyed the DLC but this is actually really off-putting! Any tips, ideas?

I called on Ifrit to smash them before ripping their souls away. But had problems at the final transmitter at the ground level because cannot summon ifrit and they cast protect on themselves. So took a long time to kill them there.

No, sadly not :/ just gave up on the DLC and moved on, though it was a pity
