The real bad guy is Square, the DLC page says the content is 100 GB (I didn't go back and reference the main game which is where the size is from) since I had it pre-loaded and beat ages ago...yet in my library before this.

I was thinking I was getting a whole reverse FFXV with the "bad guy", I havn't even played yet and i'm irritated. Granted they gave all the other DLC away, I can't complain too much....but the idea of any false advertisement attempt, accidental or not is something that really gets me.

If went from DMC: Vergils Downfall to Assassins Creed (whatever those washington episodes were called, crap works)...you can tell they been working close with Ubisoft without even donning the creed robes lol.

Favorite series, favorite company, flat out...but this release has been nothing but a headache. I tried downloading the 4K files and after 64 gigs it told me it was just cancelled and tried to re-download (probably due to the entire 64 GB of "hidden files" being moved like the original install), and this time I deleted my new Tomb Raider to make sure I had space...for nothing.

NOBODY is playing this without an SSD square...get it together, your costing us double the lifespan and the games are big enough. Geez.

You still doubt? Bahamut, the god of war. Them just become puppets of god's sake. If Eos have a heart, it means once was alive, she got in love with humans, he got two semi-good childs, Ardyn and Somnus. Gods without her mother losses their own focus. Why Bahamut does link with Eos hearth? who knows...

Why does everything have to be black and white. Ardyn got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over, and it consumed him. Whether that makes him the bad guy or not is for you to decide.

it's weird that you call out the second poster when the first post literally goes off on a tangent largely unrelated to your question.

Seriously, possible spoiler alert though. As I mentioned, just started playing. Keep your ramblings under black bars if that is the case. If I didn't want to see the story, i'd refund it on spot.
But this may be too good to ignore even with the UBLC heh.

Somnus - Stole Everything from Ardyn
Bahamut - Tempered with the Divine Choice [Ifrit reveals Ardyn was the Chosen]

So, the Somnus-Bahamut pair is the "real evil".

Final Fantasy bad guys/girls are never really that bad. FFXIII-2 is a good axample.
Well maybe Kefka ^^

To me the true villain of FFXV is Bahamut, and his Crystal.

Back when the Nova Crystallis was still a thing 13, 13-2, and Lighting Returns the theme was about defying fate and going against the gods while 15 Bahamut was obviously controlling Ardyn and persuading Noctis to make sure everything happened as it should. The canceled Season 2 DLC was supposed to take the 13 route during endgame but we're getting some novel instead.
:steamfacepalm:

So, the Somnus-Bahamut pair is the "real evil".

Isn't Bahamut's purpose to enforce destiny? Isn't that why he got involved to assist Noctis against Ifrit in the first place? Is it evil to enforce destiny that is pre-written? What''s meant to be?

That is one interpretation, but that cut-scene where Ardyn saw the "Truth" through Ifrit's memories made me to question Bahamut's words. Keep in-mind that when Ardyn saw it, Ifrit couldn't have lied nor twist-it because of the "obvious situation" of that scenario. So, Ardyn is the "True King".

There is no proof the Crystal cannot bless Ardyn just because Ardyn carried the "Darkness" [due to his constant healing of people] ... Ifrit [a deity] can co-exist with the "Darkness" is a proof of the Crystal can indeed bless "Darkness". Also, Aera said the Crystal "has no will of its own" ... so, the Crystal couldn't have rejected Ardyn - the only explaination is Bahamut "blocked" Ardyn from accessing the Crystal.

I would conclude [of course, this is just my personal view] that, Somnus and Bahamut tried to clean-up their "craps" after seeing how powerful Ardyn has become [ ... "almost like a god", according to *censored* ]. Where Somnus tried to sound like he did it because of the "greater good" [we all know that is a lie], and Bahamut worded as it is "fate" [which we already saw what Ifrit saw, and know Bahamut lied].

You'll never get to know who is really the "Bad Guy" in FFXV, because Square Enix thought the original story was too dark and gritty for the masses. The God of Death, Etro, is actually banned from being mentioned in media in several countries across the world. Ardyn was supposed to prevent Noctis from causing the Apocalypse. I want to believe Ardyn's DLC was just a rehash of what was supposed to be the end game for FFXV. Although the story was literally flipped upside down, and Ardyn is the villain destroying props and causing chaos.

Bahamuth, as he set this whole thing up just to make a "king of light" (most likely to boost the gods own popularity)

Though if you ask me, Square Enix and Hajime Tabata.
Square Enix due to ripping FFXIII - Versus from Tetsuya Nomura's hands.
Hajime Tabata for lacking imagination and vision, and then leaving the company before even finishing the damn thing.

Well like I said, Bahamuth.
Considering with the new info from Ardyn's episode, it basically comes together that Bahamuth manipulated all the events to turn Ardyn into a villain to spread darkness over the world, so that the king of light can vanquish him.
Why?
well I theorize, due to the gods having destroyed the first civilization who started rebelling against them, and the huge damage they did to the world with their war (big rift created by Bahamuth, meteor summoned most likely by Ifrit, and other big permanent scars on the world due to the gods)

Bahamuth most likely orchistrated this all to boost humanity's faith in the gods, tricking them into thinking the gods aint so bad, and they can't live witouth the support of the gods.
(the kings of Lucis owning their grand powers to the gods, the King of light vanquishing a great evil with his god given powers and so on)

Long story short, they screwed up in the past, created a lot of damage and whiped out a entire civilication for rebelling against them.
Then hatched a plan to sacrefice billions, including creating the starscourge all to boost their popularity and ensure humanity's loyalty.

So much for spoiler free, i'm not even gonna finish reading these lol. Glad I played the first chapter before coming back at least.

On a side comment...let's not say Sephiroth (think I spelled that wrong) wasn't a bad guy. Destroying the world for any reason is pretty much under the villian code no matter how ****** you get lol. An Kefka was a definite.

Again it brings me back to Creed (which is probably what they want)...Templars or Assassins, both have a point of view...neither is truly wrong in their own eyes. But Freedom or Order isn't much of a choice to the human race.

Cool Theory. I like it.
