OC in General can cause CTD if it is unstable.
(Is your crash without error message? If yes, it might be your RAM or corrupted Pagefile.)
Revert CPU/GPU OC or Volt adjustments to see if that works.
Enable Pagefile, must have no matter how much RAM you have and give it space to grow if need be.
I set it to 20GB - 50GB just in case and the old rule of Thump have as much Pagefile as RAM in your System + something extra.
Those are the things I've done to get rid of Crashes in the game.
Most Problems are caused by the one in front of the Screen, by following stuff on the internet Blindly and blame developers for everything that goes wrong.
I play the game now excessively and for long periods of time (5-8 Hours per session) for 40 Hours now without a single Crash.
and what sort of crash
bsod ?
crash to dekstop
system shutdown ?
I run windows 10 like a pleb, I have an i5 quad 5gig I think, a GTX 1080, and 16 gig of RAM. It's a crash to desktop, as though I had just hit alt-F4. Sometimes there's an error message but those don't seem to appear anymore.
I was able to get through the fight by turning all the settings to potato mode and making the game full screen rather than borderless. Maybe one or both of those things did it. I've switched back everything now so I'm anticipating more crashes but I'm not too fussed anymore. And advice or thoughts are still appretiated though, as it would be nice to have them stop altogether.
meaning the game could eat up 16+ gig ram and crashed out the game
for a gtx1080 gpu dont have TRAM set to highest
id imagine the settigns were to high
for this game a gtx 1080 isnt a high card (shocking i know)
i would try with tram set to average and all nivida settings off and see how you get on
also set a page file for 20gig or so and see how you fair out
SLI Titans; 32gb Ram; i9 25 cores
If even it will help, i wo`nt enable that ♥♥♥♥♥ killing HDD and SSD option, cause I have 16 gb RAM and dont need a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pagefile.
It is only developers problem that game is a non-optimized piece of ♥♥♥♥
