This or RE2 remake?
What would you buy if you had that choice?

Choice is yours, but i think I'd go for RE2 remake. I had a lot of hours into the original. FF XV on steam has stutter issues. So if you are ever interested in it, buy it on a different platform.

Ok but I don't think my 2060 is good enough for 60 fps with 4k textures. Not to mention this card is only 6gb cuz of Nvidia's greed so yeah maybe I will go for RE2 only then...

you don't need to set em for ulta. just install the pack and that's it

RE2 runs like a charm since they removed denuvo. I'll go for that. However, FFXV is great, although I just begin my playthrough, bought it a few days ago.

For what it's worth, I bought this game a couple of days ago and am on Chapter 9... I have yet to experience anything other than the occasional stutter here and there, which I attribute to running the game on less than min-spec hardware (I3 4130T, 8GB RAM, 860M, 500GB SSD) with settings set to 1080p, 30fps, and Average.

That being said, both this game and RE2:R are great games and while I can't speak to this game's replayability just yet, you can expect to get about 20-30 hours out of RE2:R if you go through both character's A and B stories (which would require 4 playthroughs... Leon A/Claire B and Claire A/Leon B). The main narrative doesn't change much between scenarios but there are key differences and playing through all scenario options gives you the broadest picture in addition to representing where the bulk of RE2:R's gameplay time is spent.

re2 remake is the highest possible quality, BUT its a supershort game.. 8-12 hours.

ff15 though is riddled with technical problems, BUT at least its a 50-70 hour game.

so you either choose flawless 8-12 hours with perfect buttersmooth performance or 50-70 hours with potentially big technical problems

This is what I am mulling over now. I am just finishing Red Dead 2 on PC which I sank 100+ hours into so its not that important for me that the next game I play be overly lengthy.

I think I will probably end up buying RE2R before the winter sale is finished.

Thanks again

so i played the ff15 demo int he past 2 hours and i'm more than impressed. the demo ran better than 99% of all other games these days. it was technically flawless.. constant 60fps and 16.6ms frametime without any derivations above or below maxed out on a gtx 980ti (excluding the nvidia effects)

maybe i was wrong and the game is technically better than most others ?!? idk anymore but i loved the demo and i'm going to buy this one. though not sure if i should buy it with episode ardyn or without.. how much is episode ardyn worth ?

edit: btw nice you played through rdr2 on pc ?! i bought it too on steam release but so far i only played 135 hours of red dead online :D haven't started playing the story yet lol, will do so sometime in the next few months hehe

i can tell you this much. in the demo my 980ti which has 6 gb vram too was mostly full.. it used around 5700-5900 mb vram without 4k textures lol. with 4k textures it uses like 11 gb from what i read o_O

at least the demo ran greatly as mentioned above and only very rarely it went up to 99% gpu load (only in combat with effects and as said very rarely, maybe twice in 2 hours). usually it ran with 60-90% load so your 2060 should be enough for 1080p maxed out in ff15 without dropping below 60fps

It's generally accepted that the demo performance is better than the regular game. Not to mention most stutter issues came with a later patch that the demo does not have. Most severe stutters and performance problems start to occur 8-9 hours into the game.

Yeah well I mostly just buy Rockstar games for the singleplayer. The online mode is really quite pay2win and its just not for me.

Anyways you should play the story if you havent yet. Its even better than GTAV as far as singleplayer story is concerned imo.

I played the demo too and though I didn't have any stutters playing at 1080p high, I noticed other issues like bad lip sync even in the cutscenes.

Also, what people say about this game not being all that it could have been because of it being in development hell for a few years shows even the demo. Little things I noticed like some odd writing and abruptly starting and ending cutscenes...

Is the main game better or perhaps worse?
