Proton aka mod wine dont like anti cheat programs and drm
Denuvo doesn't require any kernel modules or external processes (except of course the Steam client) to run, and thus doesn't have much opportunity to break Wine. Valve mentions DRM and anti-cheat because many DRM and anti-cheat solutions require external clients and/or kernel drivers to run.
Gonna subscribe to this thread to get a notification for when FF XV starts working in WINE/Steam Proton.
