[Linux] Does it run with Proton?

As I had quite some ggod surprises with WIndows games (in my library) running with Proton: does FF XV run with Proton? Anyone who can test it (Linux steam client)?

No, it does not run. I feel like I wasted my bandwidth downloading it too! (Mint 19 here)

That is a rumor. Multiple games with Denuvo are already in the initial whitelist provided by Valve, and multiple other games run just fine under Wine/Proton.

Denuvo doesn't require any kernel modules or external processes (except of course the Steam client) to run, and thus doesn't have much opportunity to break Wine. Valve mentions DRM and anti-cheat because many DRM and anti-cheat solutions require external clients and/or kernel drivers to run.

I've been playing FF8 on Proton on my Steam Machine, thanks @valve & community.

Gonna subscribe to this thread to get a notification for when FF XV starts working in WINE/Steam Proton.

I forced it to use Proton 5.13-2 and it runs fine for me.
