A Rocky End – Level 34 Coeurls

Is anyone else encountering level 34 coeruls at the quest location for A Rocky End? Instead of the level 12 voretooths that should be there. This is so frustrating. I am trying to complete a level 12 quest and I am getting my butt kicked by these level 34 insta-kill coeurls. Anyone else having this issue?

Heh I guess you missed the one after the first dungeon then? They pop up all over the place.

No, I don’t recall seeing any coeurls after the first dungeon. It is possible that I did see them, and simply ran away. However, I do not seem to have that option now. I cannot get near the dog tags needed for the quest without alerting the coeurls. And once they are alerted, I am unable to pick up the dog tags.

I am thinking I am going to have to wait until I am closer to 34th level (23 lvl right now) to complete this quest.

Yes, they do have the hunt icons above them. So, it this happening because I accepted the level 34 quest to hunt them? Doh! Can I fix this by abandoning the quest?

You can abort this hunt in Taelpar and re-take it later.

OK I did abandon the quest. This worked – in that the coeurls are gone and the voretooths are there. I killed the voretooths but could not find the dog tags anymore. I had seen them before, but they are not here now. And while I am searching the area, a lvl 27 gigantoad appears. I kill it and continue searching. Only to have another gigantoad appear. Sigh.

Those toads only appear in rainy weather. Just camp till the weather is fine if you don't want to fight them.
