Pentium G4560 and 4gb RX560?
Hi guys,

So I bought this game on steam sales and I'm wondering if it will be playable on a computer with a pentium G4560 and a 4gb rx560. I'm of course not expecting this too be an amazing experience, just wanting it to be playable.

I also have a laptop with a Geforce 1050 4GB and an i7, I'd rather play it on desktop because it has more storage space etc.

One of my friend using geforce 940m to play ffxv, and its just barely playable. While I'm using geforce mx150, the SP is smooth on low setting and when the visual effect is not a lot ( such as ramuh summon that will tear your card with its super abundant visual effect ), during multiplayer expansion aka, Comrades, you will need better card if you want some better experience.

in conclusion go upgrade your potato because this game is so demanding even i had issue with frame dips and stuttering :steamfacepalm:

The potato is a computer i built for my 60+ year old parents. I can't justify upgrading it for one game. I can play it on my laptop. I am just asking whether this game will run at 30 FPS (with dips into 20s) on low settings most of the way through the game.

why buy a game without checking you meet the specs ?

with what you have shared
you wont have a great experience with this game

You won't have any good experience. Your GPU is basis up to GT 1030 performance, recomendation is 1060 6GB VRAM, and The Geforce 1050 is also not enought to run this game over 1080p low, recommended is 900p low (that is even worse than PS4 version). About your CPU is not way this game will run fine near to 60 FPS, the game recommends 8 core/treats CPU, try locking up to 30 FPS in the menu it will reduce physcs calculations to nearly a half

Guys I'm looking for opinions of people who have run this game on a potato. Not the opinions of people who don't own potatoes and are trying to guess what the game would run like on potato. I can do that too and wouldn't have asked here.

> why buy a game without checking you meet the specs ?

I wrote my laptop meets the minimum specs. I asked about the desktop because its on the minimum spec line. I was hoping someone with a similar setup would comment

>bout your CPU is not way this game will run fine near to 60 FPS,
I already wrote, I am expecting 30FPS. Not 60. But what you also wrote is completely incorrect. I felt it needed to be corrected

The game has been shown to have virtually 0 performance difference between 4 core 4thread and 6 core 12 thread. Even for 2 core, 4 thread the average frame rates doesn't change. See this chart where tom hardware uses an RX580 and then disables cores on an Ryzen. It pretty much proves this game can run on any cpu with 4 threads.

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/final-fantasy-xv-performance-analysis,5513-6.html

The main question for me is can the RX560 run it. The RX560-1024 also is not a 1030 basis and never was. It is a 1050 basis, and has always been though its slower than the 1050 by about 10%.

My question was targeted to people who are running this game on systems like i3 6100 and 1050, how well does it actually run. If those people are getting 38FPS most of the way through the game, I probably could run it on the desktop just fine. I ran the tutorial and its performance was smooth, but I don't want to get to chapter 5 and discover that I have lik 11 FPS or someting like that.

I can tell you GTX 960 run's like garbage nearly unplayable on Prompto DLC. On this game, the more you go indeep, more performance needs. There will be parts that will lock you into 10 FPS.

This game does many high priority threats which is bad performance for 4 cores processors couse OS can't manage it well.

I know you won't like what I am telling you, but this is it. I played for 140 hours and I know how this game works on 1060 GTX 6G and FX8320. Not even close to 60 FPS on Medium at 1080p, more likely to 50's.

Actually what your wrote is useful. FX8320 is a low end enough chip and a GTX960 is like an RX560. Would I be able to finish the main quest with that kind of setup ? I'm not interested in the DLC.

Maybe if you have some patience to low FPS and slow reaction from the game, yes. I got a friend that finished the game on 960 and FX8350 but everytime I saw it to me felt unplayable. I suppose who is playing is important here.

I played FF XIII on a geforce 840m. That had dips in to the 18 fps range. Once I am done with grad school and rich, I will buy a 400$ graphics card just to play FF XV at high settings at 1440P at 42FPS. Right now all I care about is can this game run at low settings at 25 fps. Many Thanks!
