So I got gladios asking me to catch this fish, I said ok and off we went, I caught every fish in the area and still failed, anyone know why?

It's a hidden fish IIRC, it won't show on the map like the Vespa Gar, try casting towards the edges of the map.
Not sure what lure to use or what time it comes out, Gladio said it was dawn so you probably only have 5 minutes to catch it.

If I remember correctly,. I was using a giant cactuar lure, the very same one you might pick up nearby that one tackle shop in the vesperpool. I was like "Ohh, I got this, it might be useful to catch some fish here". The fish is indeed hidden, and its at the top right corner. Also with that quest, it will stay dawn forever until you finish or abandon the quest

I think it shows on the map if you have Level 10 Fishing skill. I'm pretty sure I saw it as a big yellow dot, and it took 5-6 minutes to catch. =P

Yeah hes a doozy. He has the highest stamina I think, and the highest XP gain, tied with another fish

you need the golden cactor 10.000 needles lure, you can buy it at the fishershop there, The Liege seems to enjoy this type of lure... or so ... dont know the englisch word for anbeissen lol

Late response but wrong side of the area for the fish. He's in the top left.

There's a fish in the sea near Altissia that I think has even more stamina. It's hella big and gives Ignis a new recipeh
