Obvious validate game files suggestion^

seriously if a game runs fine but suddenly breaks then the first think u should think of is a file missing/damaged

Thanks for the answer! I tried to check the integrity of the files, twice in a row! It did not solve the problem!

Did it try to redownload any files? If not, delete something in your FF game directory to force it to see that there's something missing and it might download more files. Overlay software (fraps, msi, whatever else) might also be causing the problem but if this is the first time it's happened and it always happens at the same spot it sounds like something is just corrupted in the install.

I looked in the forum, the same error was found by several users! I believe it is a mistake of the game itself!:steamsad::steamsad:

Thanks for the answer! I'll do this, delete a file in the FF directory and check its integrity! If it works, I'll come back with answers!

if it's the gray screen crash I've had those crashes when something's very performance heavy, maybe try turning resolution down and putting settings on low, I'm not too sure if it'll help but just a suggestion.

Thanks for the sugestion! The first thing I did was to reduce the graphics settings, unfortunately I did not succeed!

I will leave here the informations of my computer

FYI, I had the same issue (it would crash after the video when the screen said, "City of Altissa..."), and found a way to get past it. I loaded another save file that was ~6 minutes behind, and I made it past that point okay.

Hey, I had this same crash happening att City of Altissa. Did some searching and it turns out it was a driver issue with Radeon 18.3.3.

I updated to 18.3.4 and it stopped the crashing, and I haven't had an issue since.

Hope this helps!

Hello Jonalan,

How do you solve this issue??

I had this same issue just that it didn't continue loading after the cutscene with Lunafreya, where they talk about the trident thingy.
My solution was to install it on Ubuntu and run it with Proton-GE and it worked like a charm. So far I am able to play it on proton with no further difficulties.
If you still are stuck there, save the game somewhere like slot 5 or 6 and upload the save file and I can bring you past those cutscenes, if you want.

In case anyone else finds this in the future, I also had an issue of it crashing when getting to the Chapter 9 black splash screen. The solution for me was one of these 3 things:
Deleting Special K mod.
Deleting the exe then have steam verify and redownload it.
Changed graphics to low.

Unfortunately I did all of these in the same test so I don't know for sure which one ended up fixing the problem.

Im in Windows 10 with a 12600k, RTX2060 and 64 gigs of 3600MHz DDR4 ram
