What are your thoughts on Chapter 13?
I think chapter 13 was really boring and felt extremely linear, even more linear than final fantasy 13. I understand it's supposed to feel like survival horror, but can you put this in a side quest, rather than forcing everyone to play through it? All the hall ways are extremely linear, the writing is unimaginative, the jump scares are ripped straight out of dead space. At the end, you discover that Prompto is actually an imperial clone that escaped as an orphan. This is a really cool story moment, but is it worth walking through endless hallways, fighting the same stupid♥♥♥♥♥goblins? Only thing I like about chapter 13 is the lucis ring, the arcane magic looks so freakin cool!

force you into 2-3 hours of stealth
obtain weapon which oneshots EVERYTHING (at least after a certain patch)
repeat the same task around 20 times

Chapter 13 sucked. Though I might not be the best person to ask as I think the overall writing of the game sucked. I think the story had great promise, but the execution was lacking.

What sucks even more is I don't think you get to keep the ring once you complete Chapter 13. What's the point of learning to use it then? This chapter is sooo pointless lol!

You should have played verse 2 instead since it is shorter and had more to say to the story (It explains what happens to Ravus and Ideolas . I thought I would have more of a challenge picking the Noctis route, but it turned out to be a bore.

I didn't mind the linearity of the chapter, but I did mind how boring it was and how hiding from the MTs didn't even matter. It just dragged on for far too long before meeting up with the bros and finally having a boss fight.

It was hella boring and I didnt want to go thru the whole thing again since playing this on the PS4. I think it was meant to make you feel helpless or powerless without Noctis's weapons and friends, well at least before the ring of lucis got buffed.

Played it on the PS4 before the rings buff and it was pretty annoying because the game almost literally makes you go into hiding and wait for the MTs or guards to walk pass to avoid confrontation. I guess it was "okay" for the first 10 or 20 mins but just got annoying and boring pretty fast. Its not as bad anymore with the new ring but still, hated that part of the game.

The alternative route does sound enticing.

At least you can run now. Back on early console you couldn't even run, which added another 30minutes, and had to wait this long time for every door to open, every, single, time.

I actually prefer it over the Verse 2 tho. Even before Verse 2/buffed Ring the ring's Holy was more than enough to battle the soldiers. I never hid or avoided them at all, just let them kill themselves bouncing off my Holy spell. I think that was the best aspect/fun of that level, for me.

Its hard to feel "survival horror" when you can literally summon a balck hole to delete your enemies from existence.

But otherwise it was slow but it had info you need to understand

How long does it take people who've never done it before, now? I think it was more than 2 hours when I did it, but now it only takes me an hour or less.

That sounds so terrible, glad Square decided to patch the damn level.

I've played the level for over an hour, but I'm confident I'm near the end.

With cutscenes? you might push past an hour.

Thank goodness, my whole party is back and I regained my powers. What a worthless chapter lol. Only good thing is the lucis ring.

It was a bit appointing that a huge city of the empire was just a collection of hall ways.
