Side quests first or main story?
I've been playing approx 10 hours now and im really enjoying the game. i have just reached chapter 3. Is it worth me doing all the side quests first? or can i complete the main story and then come back at the end to do all the side quests/hunts etc. i'll do some along the way of course.

The reason im asking is because i already feel like im over levelled by the time i reach the story quests, at the minute im level 18, but the story quest is level 10?

Thanks

You can come back to do side quests using Umbra. Personally I over did the side quests and was way over leveled for the story making it super simple. I believe last story chapter is only lv 45.

Is all up to you. The post game content is what's really fun and challenging tho.

I got the same problem, i'm a completionist, i like to do everything in a game, unlock all achiev and stuff, but there, leveling is way too fast, even without xp boost, i'm at chapter 3, main quest is level 15-18 and i'm 32... some level 10 quests give more xp than 25 ones..
It's not fun to one shot everything, i could just ignore side quests for now but when i'll be done with the main quests i'll roll my head on my pad to finish low level quests..

Im at level 49 and chapter 8. I still have a grocery list of sidequest and monster hunts to finish but Im going to continue with the story line and continue side quests later. I dont want to over level which I probably already did lol

Yeah my first playthrough on PS4, I was definitely overleveled for the story trying to pick up every quest along the way.

Right now, I just hit level 20 (at chapter 3) and im using the Nixperience Band to hold my EXP and not use them when I camp / rest. If you want a bit of a challenge through story mode, use that band to hold your exp and level when you hit 30-35.

Wow, I was kinda worried this was going to be an issue. Until Chapter 4, I did all the sidequests I could pick up and found myself very quickly on lvl 27-28 until I noticed the next quest only required you to be lvl 19. I think it was because all the Hunts show 25 and up and so I just kinda worked towards that.

I think the reason why I leveled up so quickly too was because I was taking monster hunts 5 to 10 levels higher than mine so it was giving me alot of EXP points.

i am glad i am not the only one with the same issue.

I think ill just leave the side quests for now then and the hunts etc and just focus on the main story, once complete i'll come back and start completeting side quests.

None of them are missable are they? That's what im also worried about

Yeah i have seen that, saw it at the start and wondered why.

Just seem's abit odd that i have to use an accessory to stop EXP all together. nevermind. i'll do the story first if someone can confirm there is no missable side quests by doing it this way?

There are pros and cons about going straight the main quest. I usually do it , in every game . I only do the side missions once I finish the main story line. What's the downside? The main story isnt that long and I didn't really get the time to get emotionally attached to the group or pretty much anyone at the end.
Maybe if I did spend more time and doing the side quests first but I like to play games for their story lines.
Actually one of the things that surprised me in a negative way is how short the main story is. I was actually expetcing something a lot longer. But it is what it is. I still enjoyed a lot of it.

How will i know when i have reached that point?

Honestly, if there isn't any thing missable i'll just do the main story for now and come back and do everything else, id prefer to do it that way, thats how ive done most games. But i dont want to feel like ive missed anything
