Monsters health bar
Just wanna know what does purple health bar means on monsters? I'm currently lvl 39, and I notice some monsters I can defeat with ease, and some are really hard (same level). Am I doing something wrong?
And how an when can you get better weapons? I got a few upgrades early on, do I need to wait to move to next chapter?

Resist against everything?

Purple means they resist against that weapon type, so you should switch to another weapon

Some monster type like FLAN (that jelly thing) have resistance to all weapon type, so you should use magic against them

To get better weapon you can buy it from the weapon shop as the game progress or upgrade it to CID (not all weapons can be upgraded)

Though the best weapon for each weapon type is acquired through end-game quest like in previous FF

Hm... I'll have to look more closely. I could swear no matter what weapon I switch for Noct the health bar is always purple. I know when you get purple damage numbers you're not doing efficient damage.

A purple health bar just means that the enemy is a daemon.

So, they're suppose to be harder to kill?

A purple HP bar means they're a daemon. Purple damage numbers mean they're resisting your weapon type.
