How to get the sturdy helixhorn?

I have been farming it for around 4 hours now, and all I am getting are the tails. I am targetting the horns and breaking them.

There is no trick, just be sure to break the horns on the Duplicorn as much as possible and it will drop.

I got mine from the very first one I killed by breaking the horn twice.

I got mine by pure dumb luck, without even knowing how rare this thing is and without a hunt...

You can pick up Hardedge and just warpstrike on the horn with it a few times.

I used the cerberus sniper rifle to get 3 sturdy horns. What i did was warp strike to the top of the rocks, the unicorn monster thingies come close to you. Then i just spammed the attack button, without aiming or anything.

Since your high up its easy to just shoot at their horns. The sniper rifle is at Fort Vaullery. And its gimmick is that you break parts easily with it. You can aim thorugh the scope but since the enemies move fast, its hard to do it that way.

All you need to do is very simple , you just need to aim for the horn of those things and you have to break it to get one in process.

I got it the first time by eating the 'Mother & Child Rice Bowl.' I'm not sure if 'Sword of the Wise' does anything, but I also equipped that.

I have. Every time I have broken the horns but I get nothing but the tails.

I got it on my 1st try, didn't even eat anything, just switched to Prompto & shot the horns off.

break the horn and if its having a hard time dropping there is a food that boosts item drops you can find it in lestalam

As most people said, pick up the Mother & Child's Rice Bowl, Key of Prosperity should help too if I'm not mistaken. Here's a location you can snag Hardedge for free, all it does is make it easier to break enemies parts, so if you're not having trouble you can skip getting it.

Make sure you are killing the right enemies. Regular Spiracorns don't give the drop. Duplicorns do at a very low rate. The BEST way to get them is to do the "Untamed Wild Horses" hunt from Coernix Station in Alstor because the spiracorns in this hunt for some reason have the loot table of a Leukorn which drop a sturdy helix horn almost every time you break the horn. This hunt only requires hunter rank level 3 and can be done as soon as you start chapter 3. I got a sturdy helix horn this way before I even had the glass gemstone to get the second upgrade.

You don't need food. Literally all you need to do is equip Sword of the Wise and then Warp-Strike the Duplicorn's horn until it breaks. You can easily get a Duplicorn by going to Old Lestallum and getting "The Last Spiracorn" hunt. It's like a 100% drop rate if you do it that way.

If you were using Sword of the Wise then you either weren't targeting the horn, or you weren't targeting the Duplicorn.
