QUICK FIX ALOT OF CRASHES
STEAM is not aquiring all the files and its messing your game up, but wait you have already validated the files WTF am i talking about. ok listen go to your FFXV Install folder, and delete Tobii.GameIntegration.dll, now try running the game, nope it doesnt work great!, now go to steam Right click FFXV, Properties, Local Files, Validate all Files. LET IT DO ITS THING ITS GOING TO TAKE A WHILE, if it says your missing files then let em download and youre FIXED PLAY YOUR HEART OUT! please like or bump or whatever if this helped you!

Note: it has nothing to do with Tobii this method is forcing steam to redownload files because we know one is missing, which strangely causes more files to download if for some reason your game keeps crashing.

ALSO CREDIT TO H4sh for assisting in finding this solution.

It's a solution for what issue I don't understand, what error you have ? Me I just crash in game every 5 min and it's over fcking boring but I can play so ?

i literally had no issues at all with this game so far appart from the summoning bug that locks me to 30 FPS until restarting the game.

It fixed my issue of random inexplainable crashing at the very beginning of the game (when the car is broken). The crash seemed related to a certain Visual C++ Redist DLL, both me and the OP tried every possible solution. We both tried veryfying game cache, but it found no errors. After we deleted a random file, Steam found a bunch of corrupted files. I had to redownload something like 2.1 GBs.

Does this fix the ghostly silent NPC traffic?
Maverik770 Mar 12, 2018 @ 12:17am
I'm curious about this. I experience a lot of random crashes unless I play in Borderless Fullscreen mode. Which then causes a bunch of graphical anomalies and issues. I'm hoping the patch will fix the grey screen crashing issue so I can stop using Borderless Fullscreen and get rid of the graphical anomaly issues.

Everything is amplified in Comrades multiplayer mode too. Grey screen crashes are much more frequent and so are the graphical anomalies.

Please Square, get some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ patches out for this game to fix these weird lockups and crashes asap.

I may try this method to see if it helps. Anyone else tried this yet? My issues persist through both demo and full release (pre-loaded).

Only one file redownloaded for 732kb :-(

what issue are you having exsactly?

SPECS

AMD FX-4130 Quad 3.8 GHz
24.0 GB RAM
Windows 10
GTX 970 4 GB (driver 398.36, updated to that driver before first play)

------------------------

Played for the first time Wednesday for 3 hours across multiple sessions. No issues.

Loaded up yesterday evening, complete system crash after 3 minutes. Reload, same after 5 minutes.

Applied a couple fixes:
- Disable hardware fullscreen optimization (or whatever the wording) on exe file
- Special K with the two recommended changes
- Increased page file size (correct term?) to 1.5x RAM to fix potential memory leak

Tried again this morning, got to 10 minutes.

- Uninstalled and reinstalled

Got to play for 20 minutes.

- Did what was suggested here and had the above result of only replacing the file I deleted

Haven't tried again after that.

------------------------------

Every time is a full system crash.

Thanks in advance for your help.

When you say Full System Crash do you mean Windows locks up and crashes too? And you're forced to restart your whole computer? ie: Total computer deadlock scenario?

Or do you mean the FFXV application hangs and then shuts down, dropping you to your desktop? If it's this situation, does it pop up a little box saying "FFXV_se.exe has stopped working"?

I mean it bypasses blue screen and my computer restarts. Just goes black screen.

Possibly related issue I've had for a while that I've never been able to diagnose: every time when it does this, there's no single beep. Doesn't post at all. Monitor looks for a signal, then the light blinks. I have to unplug the computer for half a minute then start it up. I *sometimes* have to do this when I normally boot my computer. It's something I've lived with for years.

A BSoD or full Crash usually has only a couple of reasons - as far as i know - and its especially strange if it happens in different timed intervals:

1.) Overheating - check your temps and clean the inside of your PC every 3 month ^.~
2.) Damaged Hardware, the most likely suspects are RAM or the PSU - the PSU usually crashes and reboots your system the second a certain amount of power is drawn. If it's RAM you could do a RAM Test
3.) Check your OC values - maybe they're set too high and are crashin you all the time in extremely demanding situations

Now, before you go do any other fixes - does this happen in other demanding games? If yes:

To fix 1.): watch the temperatures while you're playing. If anything goes above 80°C thats way too high.
If the CPU is overheating, you might want to clean out your CPU fan and/or reapply your conduction paste that conducts the heat to the fan.
If your GPU is overheating: Clean the Copper Piping and take out the dust inside of the cooling body with an air pump or blow it out (can cause a mess be advised lol)
to fix 2.): locate the damaged hardware. Do a test on your RAM, the only way to test your PSU you need specalist equipment - i had one of those, had to hand my PC over for a day to get it replaced x.x

If no: Im clueless - could be a driver bust... ><

When this happens is your monitor blinking a light or message as if it has "No Signal" from the graphics card?

I agree with Magistrella's above post that it sounds Hardware related. It could be a major flaw or problem in your OS + Drivers + Software but it really sounds like a piece of hardware is failing. He outlined some great suggesstions in regards to checking for things that could be hardware related.

Has this ever occurred like this in any other games, especially demanding ones like FFXV?

I don't mean to pick at you or your hardware, I also run an old AMD FX 6300, but your FX-4130 is going to struggle mightiliy with this game. I don't think it would outright crash on you like this. At worst it would be stuttery or struggle in certain spots or configurations. I've seen people playing FFXV with even Phenom CPUs still.

1.) Not that. I meant to mention I installed MSI because this is the same thing that happened with Just Cause 3 a year or two ago. It was overheating and responding the exact same way. I haven't gone above 63ºC.
2.) Just did a RAM test with no errors. Will poking around in Event Viewer to see my results, I see that it said "previous shutdown at [whatever time] was unexpected". There was no log in the system for anything leading up to that time, so no idea how to pinpoint it through that method.
3.) I've never OCed (assuming it stands for overclock), so that's probably not it.

I'm about to give it a thorough cleaning inside and then give the game a shot again. I really hope something has fixed it.

Thanks again for the help.
