How to rename the Chocobo?

I know their is a lady at the Wiz Chocobo ranch that has a customize option, only problem is I haven't been able to find a way of typing in a new name. Both controler and keyboard does nothing but confirm or cancel. I can't actually type anything new.

Go to the chocobo farm and talk to the female attendant. She is the green icon. You can change chocobo color and displayed medals too.

I know about her, problem is it doesn't seem theres any way of typing anything new into the name box. I can delete the original Chocobo name but thats all. Nothing shows up when I type.

Oh youve run into the bug.

The only known solution so far is to start the game in big picture mode. I dont know why that works but it does. You have to do that to name your MP character too. probably something to do with steam overlay.

I have no issues typing, I do click on the box first though out of habit.
