Cid weapon upgrade quests not working right

I gave a bunch of weapons to Cid to upgrade (yes, they are not equipped or in my inventory, yes I have done quests and rested numerous times already) and he never calls me to say that they are done, and talking to him yields no results.

Upgrades are bugged. Not a huge issue, but I'm not the only one experiencing this werird bug since I've seen several gaming board forums mentioning it.

I've had him upgrade a couple weapons, the first dialogue with him when you get a new weapon you can upgrade, he just gawks at it. Talking to him again after you get the material he needs he will start upgrading it. Maybe your game is bugged but I've upgraded the engine blade, drain lance and one other weapon I can't recall.

I had been waiting a lot of days already for him to complete 3 weapons, got back to him when I got the material needed for the engine blade, then took him only one day to complete the upgrade on the engine blade. Still nothing on the other 3 weapons, I don't know if it's a bug or some weapons take more time than others.

Cid tends to reply based on how many quests you complete I had him call me in less than 1 day for doing that last Takka quest which involved a lot of hunt farming.

I had this issue as well, it took him forever to finish the engine blade II quest. I rested ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, did heaps of hunts and sidequests, it took forever. The other ones have worked fine though.

Finish a hunt and sleep, works every time for me.

I think I was vague, you need to complete a certain number of quests (hunt farming counts as quests), once that certain number is complete you need to rest to get the call from cid.
