Carbuncle ?

Anyone know if you can acquire Carbuncle? He was in the console versions.

I've got him once in a picture so I think he's unlocked? But I didn't tried Easy difficulty

Carbuncle is only an easter egg. You can randomly find him on photos

Carbuncle is a summon that saves you when you die on easy, he basicly makes you invicible, restores your health, mp and all.

If you play on normal he just comes on some pics just to say hello. :)

In the console version the ONLY way to get him as a summon was by playing the demo where Noctis was a kid. Upon beating that demo you unlock Carbuncle for the main game. Not sure about the Windows Edition or Royal Edition.

Also Carbuncle ONLY shows up in Easy Mode.

I think demo was for being able to name him, not to have him.

I always thought I didn't have him, but I'm told the trick is to be in Easy mode (which I knew), but then you have to have Noct die AND let the Phoenix Down timer run out. He only appears then. I have yet to test this tho I've rarely used easy mode except to save time with something like V2 suit farming, back in the day.

Carbuncle also is disabled in certain areas/fights, so you have to do without his help in those cases.

I think demo was for being able to name him, not to have him.

no if you didnt play the demo you didnt get him till the update that happened for chapter 13 on console, thats when they gave it to everyone. My wife and i played the console version, i played demo and tested it and she did not play demo and he saved me and she got a game over. but after the update to the 13th chapter i think they gave it to everyone which was around the same time they removed both demos from ps and XB stores.
