How do i dismount chocobo?

I tried to press everything and nothing seems to work. I dismount only when some enemy strikes me.

Have to hold the dismoun button. For sometimes up to 3 seconds depening on whats going on.

You need to be at a full stop first. That's why you're getting stuck holding down the button for dismount.

even fully stopped i need to hold for some seconds.. theres no way to just click and dismount..

This "dimount only when the bird wants you to" is getting rather annoying...holding dismount for 10-20 seconds and nothing sometimes. I'll be in a wide open area and nothing, slammed up against a tree and a railing and he'll let me off
