Rapidus SMG From Prompto DLC in Main Game?
One of my favorite weapons from the Prompto DLC is the Rapidus SMG. This weapon allows you to aim like a third person shooter, and fires many rounds at once. Is there anyway I can find this gun in the main game, or can I only use it in the dlc? I know the sniper rifle can be found, I'm not really interested in sniping right now.

In the Ascension menu you can unlock an upgrade the lets you switch to Prompto during combat, one of his weapons is the SMG.

The sniper rifle in the main game is very disappointing, it's a Noctis only weapon if I remember correctly, and not only that but it handles nothing like the Prompto DLC guns since it was in the base game. As for the actual topic you're asking about: I think at some point in the main game you're able to switch to Prompto and play as him (but only in combat), and that may be one of the weapons they allow you to use but I haven't tested it on PC yet nor have I had a chance to try it out extensively on ps4 either.

When you chr. swap in the main game to Prompto, he has access to an SMG, but I don't know what "type" it is.

Outside of each DLC giving you a weapon and an outfit that transfers to main game when you complete it, nope, nothing else carries over.

So ... later ... mods. The usual answer. :)

I already unlocked the ability to switch characters. I didn't realize that Prompto already had an smg in his arsenal and all I needed to do is press 4 or use the scroll wheel to switch weapons. It appears that the smg only has 100 bullets, does this replenish automatically or do I need to buy ammo?

I heard about that! It's probably a great weapon for bases, where u can headshot the whole military. But useless for just about everything else.

It replenishes after some time, I usually switched to another weapon and by the time I got back it got full ammmo again.

That's good, wouldn't want to use up all of my ammo on a few skirmishes.

Not only does the smg replenish, but my rocket launcher replenishes as well. I can literally blast my way through tough skirmishes with no cost at all xD
The Clever's Talisman that you get doing Insomnia side missions around the last chapter gives you unlimited ammo with that smg.
