Will not open...will not launch
I hit "Play" and originally it was using my hard drive for about 2-3 minutes as a process without launching. But now it won't even open: just runs for a few seconds then closes.

I'm verifying the files now but that never works as a solution. Thought this was supposed to be a good port?

Both the demo and benchmark launched fine for me.

I'm confused why they are necessary if the download only has 2015 in the folder.

Don't happent to have MSI Afterburner running or something else with an overlay that would maybe conflict with Steam Overlay? That happens to me.

some times it doesn't always include everything.

I seem to be having a similar issue. Dumped steam download cache and am currently verifying the files. If that doesn't work, I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling next.

I have to note that I have preloaded the game and then had steam do something for several hours after that, in case that somehow didn't work properly.

My CPU usage goes up for 2-3 seconds and then it goes down, followed by end of process.

In my particular case, it turned out to be the firewall. I turned it off before trying to launch the game to preclude specifically this kind of issue, but I have to assume it doesn't actually turn off completely or something.

After turning it back on and getting a notification of an internet connection attempt, I whitelisted the game and it loaded properly, it seems. Currently in the tutorial.

I am having the exact same issue. I click play on Steam and the "running" prompt pops up next to the game title in my library but then it goes away and the game does not start. I have tried messing with my firewall but it has access. My graphics driver is updated, I've dumped the cache, verified the files and uninstalled/reinstalled twice. My CPU usage will rise briefly but the game never boots. Please, if someone can offer any solutions I would be very grateful.

I was having this exact same problem not too long ago. For some reason the most recent patch SE put out clashes with the Special K mod if you have that installed. If you delete the files for Special K it should work again. If you never had SK, then I have no idea what could be causing the issue.

This happens to me all the time as well. I've found that if you run the game directly from the installation folder as admin instead of through Steam it gives you a better chance of booting up. And if it doesn't work the first time, end the process tree on task manager and wait a few minutes before trying again. Also make sure you're running the game on borderless window mode. For me at least fullscreen always gets stuck when booting up the game.

It's happened to me on occasion (usually it just takes forever after clicking Play to Running to it launching) and rebooting fixes it for me every time. Not really a fix, but just my experience.

If you are having problems launching this game just go to the FinalfantasyXV folder in your win directory where it was installed and launch it from there first, hope this helps.
