How To Switch Characters?

I can't figure out how to switch characters using a gamepad. You can switch between first and third person using the analog sticks but I can't figure out how to switch characters.

You have to spend AP and unlock nodes in the Ascension Tree (Technique tree I think?) for each bro. I think the total AP needed is around 60-65 for each one. Or maybe it was only 45ish. Can't recall offhand.

yep that is the cost of the upgrade, but you need previous nodes which is roughly 40-50 AP. No Big deal, with amulets they give you like AP+ for offense or finesse acumulating thos AP would be ajoke

It's fast even without the amulets. Just warp-strike the dogs in those canyon spots over and over (killing blow being the warp strike) using warp points.

Digging this discussion up, can I not use spells when I've switched to another character? I wanted to switch to Ignis to use spells but I can't seem to switch to my secondary weapon.
