Simple question of story *spoiler*
How did Noctis end up in Angelgard after getting absorbed into the crystal?
Perhaps I missed something in the story.

You didn't miss anything. It's sloppy writing. He ended up there because that's where they put him. No more, no less.

It was never explained officially in game (or otherwise that im aware of) he just went into a coma and *poof* .. magically transported there...

The only thing that came close to explain anything in the 10 year hiatus is the comrades dlc, but even so , it does not add much to it , they tried tho

I had the same questions

Isn't it where the power of the gods is centered? I thought Noctis was obsorbed into the light of the crystal similar to how Cloud got stuck in the lifestream.
There is something special about Angelgard, the six are guardians after all, angel guard? Perhaps it's where the crystal landed on EOS?

He was transported there by a mild gust of magical ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Honestly, it's final fantasy, and the crystal can pretty much do anything as long as it forwards the ultimate goal. Magic bla bla, I kinda don't like how they explain the starscourge as a cloud of light absorbing parasites mutated from malaria strains, because again, magic, because final fantasy.

And I would have thought Ardyn would be like 'WTH I THOUGHT YOU WERE IN THE CRYSTAL ALL THESE 10 YEARS BEHIND MY THRONE, I NEVER PULLED YOU OUT'.

Ardyn didn't look surprised to see Noctis so he must have known what was going on.

Everything gone according to Ardyn plan. He planned for Noctis to kill him and purge the starscourge.

Lol at least they should show that mild gust of magic instead of just having him start chapter 14 at that Angelgard.

Well, actually it is nearly explained in it's entirety during the comrades storyline. It is a key location for the end of the quest line and documents in the almanac give good context to the island.
A spoiler free version is basically that Bahamut moved him there, which is obvious enough from his meeting with Bahamut.
There is a lot of symbolism with the island as it used to be the meeting place of the gods, but then was used as a prison. People would have to go and reflect on their sins and judgement would be passed. You might notice Noctis arises a much more capable person.

I just finished COMRADES and it's explained there.
Spoilers for comrades: Apparently the events in COMRADES takes 10 years from lestallum to reach Angelgard Isle where Bahamut releases Noctis after the kingsglaive prove their power to him.

LOL, I almost wish in the main game they would just say 'ok now go play the DLC, come back here after you finish'
