ff15 level cap supposed to be 120?

I just got a ton of XP from my dungeon run, expecting to get straight to level 120. however i was level 98. Once the XP got tallied up, it stopped me at level 100. Is there an Item i need to unlock the level 120 cap? I feel like I wasted a ton of time getting a ♥♥♥♥ ton of XP :(

No, the cap is 120 lvl but you need much exp

Need more info. Do you mean you just didn't get as many levels as you were hoping, or did the chr. xp "circles" actually stop and have zero blue indicating more xp is needed for more levels?

Level 1-99 only requires around 3 million xp I think, if I recall correctly.
After 99 each level requires a bit over one million xp each so it's going to take a lot more than a single dungeon run to reach 120.

Expericasts, Moogle charms, and grinding certain Hunts + the Altissa hotel is usually what people do.

I had a ton of XP set aside for this, was leve 98 then went to bed at Altissa hotel, then instead of tallying all my XP, the blue bar stopped moving at level 100, I had plenty of XP left to continue leveling but the bar wouldnt move past level 100 and just ended up zero'ing out my XP once I hit 100.

Yeah, the exp required is ridiculous so I just stopped at 103 when I finished every dungeon in the game, little point in leveling up anymore I figured, especially since 20 levels isn't going to help against ultima.

I completed the Steyliff extra dungeon (SO MANY LEVELS OMG took 4 hrs). had about 600k xp, then went to Altissa (x3 modifier) at level 98. I would have assumed this would have pushed me past 100.. but it looked like a hard stop.

That would sound like some kind of bug then. I don't know, never had that happen. If you have a save from before the hotel, could reload and try it again to see if it was a one-time glitch. Other than that, no idea, sorry. :/

It would have pushed you straight passed 99 to 100 but 100 to 101 takes like 1mil exp to level up so maybe you stopped exactly on level 100.

Do a few quests and try leveling up again, see if the blue bar moves or if the exp required goes down.

600k times 3 would barely get you to 100 if there was no glitch going on.

Could just be coincidence. Dunno. :)

dont forget the food at magoo in altissia, it gives you 100% exp and ignis can learn this with cooking lvl 9 i guess
