I can't seem to point-warp

Ok, I tried EVERYTHING i found on these steam forums but it just can't seem to work, I tried mid-fight holding Y(i play on xbox controller), locking, going into wait mode but i just can't point warp.

The only place that point-warping works is on the tutorial place, which the warping button actually APPEARS, aside from that, i can only see the diamond but NEVER the button indicating that i can point-warp

IT JUST DOESNT WORK.

I want an enlightment, i'm i too early in the game? is it a bug? how do i even correct this?

(i tried everything and i know how to use it, i learned it fully in the tutorial)

Wait til you get to the Zu fight. For sure will be point warp locations for that fight.

Try fighting near tall things, rock, buildings, windmills, etc - at one point even Gladdy will raise his sword and let you point warp to it , tho i think that was one time only mission specific. Keep looking around, nothing stopping you from not pressing B and looking around during combat.

If you are in a open field chances are you wont have much to point warp to. Sometimes its based off distance / angle you are looking at object. Game has some weird learning points. They are out there tho keep looking!

I really tried EVERYTHING, i'm not fast, I tried going away from monsters (but still in-fight) and wasted 10 seconds trying to point warp but no luck. i didnt get to this zu fight, i'll try to get on to it, is it too late in the game?

Thats what you are looking for. Point Warps aren't always there but sometimes you can hide behind cover to regen, or just use a shield.

Point Warping is not that big of a deal, just use an elixer anyways.

YES, EXACTLY!! i don't have that shown up!! even with the GUI helper enabled, it's not that it's big of a deal, it's just frustating playing a game without being able to use all of its mechanics

Zu fight is just a hunt, that you will probably repeat (zu beaks = limit break magic - 10 for 999 limit break magic). Its a lvl 6 or 7 hunt, repeatable and fairly fast too if you use the car / camp trick. Im not sure when it opens up but for sure endgame/chap 15 you can do it over and over endlessly.

There is one dungeon (can't remember which at the moment) that you WILL NEED to point warp to a ledge to knock a ladder down. Hopefully you can resolve this issue before you get frusterated with said dungeon.

Gunna keep looking in settings as i AP farm to see if i can find something that would turn off the prompt

If thats the case that is a controller detection issue, if you are getting big blue circle and no buttons i can't seem to reproduce how you are doing it.

Just turned off HUD and guide, still get the prompt of Y (tho if my controller wasn't detected on start up it would be 4 circles with the top one being blue) - Special K fixed this tho i have since deleted it

In terms of myself (which is a different issue entirely vs. the topic creator), I don't get it on console/Pro version either, which has nothing to do with mods or controller detection. I dunno - whatever, doesn't matter to me if a Y/X/Z text is there or not, as long as the function works, which it does...unlike for the topic creator.

Can't seem to find any setting that removes the prompt. HUD, hints, guide

Try verifying FFXV files in steam? Maybe a file got corrupt or something. Drawing straws at this point, and at the very worst a fresh RE install may be the fix (i know fun DLing 80 gigs).

Had issue with Special K not opening when i update win7 to 10 and had to reDL for SK to work again. FFXV seems to have finicy bugs and different ones for everyone :/

As I said keep trying caz that 1 dungeon is gunna be a pain.... Dungeon btw is Daurell Caverns.

Edit: OK, it does refresh the diamond circle animation, but that's all

All i can suggest at this point is try a reinstall, if something in the files messed up (some how works in training but not in the "open world" / real game . You can try verifying first if maybe a file got deleted too.

Or suck it up til you're ready to clear Daurell Caverns (then reinstall) because this >

Not to interfere in the thread again but watching more of my videos if I'm just walking around blink-dodging I do see the triangle prompt/text then. So I'm going back to thinking I'm too fast (and occasionally just don't notice it, too). Usually I'm attacking and know a warp point is nearby, hit warp button right right after attack button, zip over. Dunno. :)

Anyway, TC, hope you figure it out. It does sound/look like a strange problem. :/

aside from " Have you tried resting in game? Using "tow car" or "return to car"? Try fast traveling? Sometimes when I notice weird bugs I'll just try those things and my issue will usually resolve with one of them "

which im assuming youve been playing and doing so it should of reset (reinstall time me thinks)

I did had the same issue. Don't know if this is helping anyone but here is what worked for me:

Using a controller and pressing the warp button "Y" while facing the warp point did not work. Only if I was seeing the warp point and kept hodling the "Y" Button instead of just pressing it did the trick for me. Note that the Y button was the only button I used, non combo, no fight buttons.

It seems to me as if the game was auto aiming for the nearest warp point only as long as you kept holding the warp button.

I eventually stopped trying and dropped the game.

it simply doesnt show at all for me, i think it may be a corrupt save file, the reason i dont know.
