Cid not upgrading weapons

I've given Cid the couerl whiskers to upgrade the Drain Lance from II to III and the glass stone to upgrade the Engine Blade from II to III. I've done two hunts, a main quest and a sidequest and I've rested several times.
However, the quest won't update and Cid says something like "You're all bracing for some power."

Is the game bugging on me, or am I missing something? What can I do about this?

you must wait , in some cases a few days. sleeping don´t work. make some hunts

As explained above: I did several hunts.

try to rest or spend a few nights until cid call you.

I've always gone - one or two hunts, rest. One or two hunts, rest. Do that until Cid calls within 3 days even for the longer duration upgrades. Both on console and PC, and I've never had an issue *knock on wood* :)

If that is what you're doing and it's been, say, even 5 or 6 full days etc then something's probably up. I've seen posts here before that Cid would bug out for some people, I'm not sure what solved it other than just continuing and maybe he'd finally call.

I am actually dealing with the same issue. I've gotten to the point where the team is on the train (actually a bit further then that) and have gone back in the past and this seems to have caused this same issue.

I've done a good number of hunts and other side quests, rested and so on and he's still not calling me back. I gave him a weapon just before getting on the boat at the light house and that was the last of it.

So yes, I do think these quests are bugged.

I'm still in Chapter III, but so far no luck. It would really suck if this is a non-solvable bug...

So he FINALLY called me back. After sleeping about 3 times and doing 2-3 quests between each time he finally got back to me. Man the game doesn't really seem to be coherent about this. He took 1-2 quests and sleeping one time for him to call back. Then it changed but there's not indicaiton that it's changed. :/
