Royal Edition Ending

To those who have played the PS4 version, and cleared it, or to anybody who knows about the "original" ending. Without spoiling anything, is the current ending in the completely up-to-date version of the game the same as the "classic" one? Has anything changed?

Just a "yes there are changes" or a "no, the ending remains the same" answers, please.

I am asking this particular question because i just learned that the game will recieve an alternate ending in 2019, as part of the 4th and final DLC in the new DLC tetralogy.

So i totally uninstalled the game, even though i had just recently purchased it, because i want to play the game in its complete and total entirety.

But if the game, as it stands right now, allready has a different ending than it did when first released, i want to play it after all, in order to get the full emotional/psychological effect of the alternate ending coming later next year...

phew. i hope i made myself understood. this particular inquiry was somehow difficult for me to articulate.

There is alternate ending in Episode Ignis. 2 actually. If it helps ;)

EDIT: to make it clear, I mean there is the alternate ending regarding the main game, not just the Ignis DLC ;)

The ending is bascially the same. Just some extra content has been added before the ending itself.

Ok, so as long as you have the Ignis DLC, there is an alternate ending added to the main game? do i understand you correctly?

Not exactly. The alternate ending is reached only by playing to it in the Ignis DLC. The main game still only has the original true ending. The new DLC endings will also be considered only alternate endings in their own episodes.

You can get those alternate endings in the Ignis episode :)) they are there, just not as the final ending in the main game. But I think you will like it. ;) I did :))

One of the endings you get already during the Episode Ignis and the second one will get unlocked after you finish it - it will be verse 2, just like with Ignis and Gladio in the chapter 14 ;)
