So every time I walk up to him, despite the fact that I have the glass gemstone he just says this phrase over and over again since chapter 10. Im postponing the end of the game because I want some better weapons but I've done so many quests in between and nothing is happening...Any help? Ps. Havent finished the game yet but because I've been trying to figure this ♥♥♥♥ out I've reached lvl 58... -_-

I've got the same problem. I have the Sturdy Hexicorn for the Engine Blade IV, but he refuses to take it. He just keeps repeating that same line.

Did you just get done upgrading something else? I had given him the Coerl Whiskers for the Drain Lance, but the game also informed me at the same time I'd have to unequip the Engine Blade to upgrade it. However once he finished the Drain Lance he wouldn't take the Engine Blade, even if I did unequip it.

I forget what chapter I'm on but I just got the Regalia back.

If you already have a weapon being upgraded, you need to finish waiting for it before he'll take another.

Just do some side quests and hunts, and then rest at camp or a hotel after a few days. (or it's a bug, I don't know.)

This. If you have multiple weapons to upgrade wait until you have the parts for all of them. Then when you give him the part for one weapon it'll bring up a prompt asking if you want to give him another part for your other weapon, and then another part for another weapon (and so-on until you have no more weapons left to give him). Just go to hammerhead and do an easy hunt four times, and then rest at the campsite north of hammerhead. That should cause the weapon to be completed.
