Anyone know how to fix screen tearing?
I am unable to play this game due to it screen tearing all the time. I have turned on vsync but that does not help. I thought it was me using HDR causing the issue so I turned it off and the issue still persists. I went into nvidia control pannel to force it to use adaptive vsync but still no change.

I am getting a constant 60fps at 1920x1080.

My hardware:
GTX 970 g1
I7-6700k
16gb RAM
4K - HDR TV @60hz

It sounds stupid, but I've played games I had to do that with, usually after alt+tabs. fast settings in nvidia contorl panel seems to be good for this game if you frequently dip into the 50s.

Thanks for the fast reply. I will try it right now.

Are you sure your television is 60hz? You should find out how your television manufacturer calculates refresh rate. Quite a few of them basically pull it out of a hat.

This is just silly. Most modern day TV's will be. If anything it would be more likely the connection used to it. Of course that's not to say all TV's will but a 4k HDR which he already SAYS it at 60hz will likely be, 60hz.

Also to the OP, make sure you have set it correctly in the nVidia control panel - I.E first the GLOBAL settings, then if not try setting it via the GAME settings (make a profile and set it)

Try normal Vsync, try it off, try it adaptive, try it fast sync (if you have that)
make sure your TV is in GAME MODE or a similar title. Make sure you turn off all the crap on your TV (Trumotion or the equivalent to your make) Dynamic contrast, super resolution etc etc etc...you really don't need all that on. In fact, I would actually turn Vsync off in the actual game, the global settings AND the program settings first to make sure they aren't conflicting. Try it via global first.

Make sure you got the correct connection and HDMI capable of it.

You could maybe, though unlikely, play with the maximum pre-rendered frames, see if that helps.

I tried setting the game to windowed then back to full screen and it has fixed my screen tearing (I think). I will try playing the game for a bit longer and see if it has definitely gone.

Yeah, my tv is 60hz. This is the only game I am having this issue and in the manual that came with the tv it says that it is 60hz.

Izziee,
thanks for the response. If the issue occurs again I will try "make sure you have set it correctly in the nVidia control panel - I.E first the GLOBAL settings, then if not try setting it via the GAME settings (make a profile and set it)" & "fast sync" after. I only use this tv for gaming and watching videos on the internet. It is always set to game mode since I do not use it for anything else really.

It is annoying having to set the game to windowed then to full screen everytime I load the game up. I tried using borderless gaming software and it worked, but it causes my frame rate to average around 50fps.

Thanks for the help.
