Should I watch Kingsglaive before play it ?

Yes it is a awesome movie and a little backstory for the events what will happen in the game. Also watch the anime. It has 5 eps. Netflix just added Kingsglaive btw.

I think the anime is important to watch because you will get backstories why Noctis became friends with the other guys.

I watched it last week and it gave me a much greater sense of what was going on during the events of the demo but I don't know for sure if the events in the film are unravelled in the game later. Afaik their is very little mention of Kingsglaive's main protagonist and it's probably an attempt to avoid confusing the casual gamer because it goes without saying that it's one of the most famous mainstream Japanese gaming exports.

It isn't required to understand the game but it will give you some behind the scenes information and background. I watched it and the anime before FFXV released on PS4 and I enjoyed them both.

The events of the movie unravel shortly after you start the game. It's after you reach the port town and your characters learn about the events there. I won't go further and spoil anything though.

You should watch it now since it shows what was happening in insomnia while noctics was travelling around in the demo that you played, last time i checked it was available on netflix

I live in the netherlands and they added it yesterday i think. I think the anime is more important because you get a connection with all the main characters. knowing where they come from. I wasnt sure if i wanted to buy/play the game because its my first FF. After watching both i cant wait to play.
