Watched the movie just now

And I have to say I am actually quite angry right now at the people from yesterday who were calling it bad and telling people not to watch it. It was good, it exceeded my expectations by a mile.
I do have one tip for people though, play the demo/watch first Chapter on youtube or something and THEN watch the movie. I feel lucky to go into the movie being aware of where and when it takes place and not knowing what will happen after chapter 1.

Fingers crossed that the anime doesn't ruin my good mood from the movie.

Sometimes I think Nyx should've been Noctis. Then it would much better to understand Luna and Noctis. It's a bit annoying that because of the movie they had to change the story of the game. That's what I konw

From what I understand the epic movie story was made for the game but then eventually utilized for the movie. Thus FFXV was left with no Story and a Kawaii homoerotic boyband in order to cash in on the female Yaoi fans.

Yeah, I remember looking for which order I should watch/play and read many complaining about it. So far I think it's actually the best Final Fantasy movie so far. As for "When to watch?" I'd actually say play the first chapter/demo until you're told there'd be "no way back". At that point save, watch the movie, then continue, because everything will fit perfectly, except the very first seconds of the cutscene. ;)

As for the actual movie:
I really enjoyed it, mostly due to the fact it works standalone without knowing the game first (I'm looking at you, Advent Children!) and it actually feels like a Final Fantasy (hey, you, Spirits Within!). The story has an open end and I've had a few questions later, but overall it was great to watch, similar to the game the effects feel believable without being too much over the top or non-existant.

My biggest open question from the movie (a non-spoiler answer would be awesome, but maybe it's just a typical story plothole):

A core point of the movie's plot is the fact that the Ring of the Lucii may only be worn/used by those the former kings deem worthy. So what does the empire want with the ring?
Wouldn't they just all start burning once they try using it?

I've watched the movie twice because of how awesome it was for me! Sure it has LOADS of issues when it comes to the pacing, but it's a cool action flick. :D

... I might have said don't watch it because I thought it had spoilers before I beat the demo lol.

Found out it was sort of important to watch after beating the demo, if I hadn't the end of Chapter 1 would have been a mess of me just saying "wtf is going on?!?!"
