NANI?
Also the combat is not very good, but if it was Noctis alone there would be a riot. "OMG whY not 4 pÊOple ParTY?!? OMGZ BLUB BLUB BLUB *convulsion*"
Between the annoying twit that is Prompto and Vladimir "I'm to sexy for my shirt" Putin's wannabe body double, Ignis was the only one I could actually stomach. When the secondary guest characters are more interesting than the ones your stuck with for the entire game... I would say you have a pretty big problem. I spent much of the game wishing Ardyn, a villian I didn't (or wasn't made to) care about in the slightest, would just plant a car bomb and get the lot of them (the stolen car segment ended disappointingly).
Then we get to the (I guess) Leviathan fight and that's when I stopped playing. Total unnecessary BS. Had it not been for the fact that some coworkers convincved me to "push through, it gets better" (it didn't), I likely would never have finished this. Then, right when we were promised a proper ending to the game, and content for characters actually worth caring about (Aranea and Lunafreya) the DLC gets canned. Insert slow clap here. Then their was the glitch that allowed you to get Aranea in your party permanently, and they patched it out (again, go figure).
And this is all ignoring the fact that combat, and more so the "leveling" system) was Nioh levels of trash. Your level had seemingly no effect on combat whatsoever to the point that you could be (what, for an RPG would be considered to be) vastly over-levelled and still get crushed by a quest mob.
Don't get me wrong, the game is beautiful, and the world at least somewhat compelling... but to me this is just another game that shows that no amount of glitter can disguise what this game is.
For the record, my dream party for Noctis would have been:
Lunafreya, Aranea, Cor
Optional Party Members: Titus, Gentiana, Cindy, Iris
When i was in the military we had 10-16 guys packed like sardines sleeping in 1 tent, yet nobody was gay.
We talked crap and made gay jokes non stop every day picking fun at each other, still not a single person in my battalion was gay.
Nothing the characters do in this game is gay, its all bro friendship and camaraderie.
Yeah...the male characters are quite cringe inducing; but, the game has a great many virtues in spite of that. I really enjoy FF15 and think it's one of my favorite titles of its kind to date.
Still too childish. Compare it with the burning of a certain character in W3.
Maybe the series loses appeal to older people. It isn´t a matter of gore porn but realism.
- Noctis is just the standard conflicted guy torn between duty and relationships;
- Prompto is the over the top annoying loud cheerful guy that hides his sadness;
- Ignis is basically the male hosewive/loyal servant stereotype;
- Gladious is the semi dumb but caring muscle guy stereotype.
Combine that with a unfinished generic save the world from evil plot and you get a writing disaster like FFXV.
Ardyn was at least as capable as Kefka and better as a character IMO. At least in the last half.
are you sure your playing the same game? i rather enjoyed the story line, while not thier strongest story for an FF game it was still rather enjoyable for me. Chapter 13 lost me a little bit but aside that, i thought it was fine.
If your just going though blitzing the story line then i can see why you dislike it, there is way more to the game then just the story, its the lore, exploration, character development, side quests (some where rather interesting).
One of thier focuses on the game was to appeal to a wider market other than fans of FF games and as a result, they had to comprimise a bit on thier normal way of doing things. FFXV is way better than the mess that was XIII
