Why FF15´s story and cast turned out to be so bad?

So the movie far from perfect but still has an engaging story of epic proportions and an great cast while FF15 received a weirdo cast and a nonexistant story. What happened? Did they use the main story in favour for the movie and left FF15 back with some k-pop infants cruisin´ around in World of Warcraft?

Any chance that future ff´s will be better?

Shut up and enjoy the road trip. Not every game needs a huge epic plot. Character focused plots are great.

Character focused plots indeed aren't the worst thing but this is Final Fantasy. By critical acclaim FF 10 was the last great FF, 6-9 were all games with an epic story which made them as successful as they were. If I wanted a character-driven-only story I'd play something like life is strange but if I buy a FF game I want an epic quest for the fate of the world and great plot twists because that's what Final Fantasy was, at it's peak, all about.

I don't even care if all 4 of them are gay or not, but as far as I'm concerned, I didn't hear they are romantic option, but they are friends, forged by fire because of what they experienced over the years, including what is happening in the game.

It is almost like video game adaptation/spinoff of the movie. I will buy for the graphics and nostalgia but everything else seems to be lacking...cannot be fixed by graphical mods either

And even if they are gay, so what?
Do they have to represent you specifically for you to enjoy a game?
No one is going to think "Hey, look at these individual gays, every gay has to be that way"

What about constantly poking each other´s butt-hole?
What about model fotoshootings of each other?
Constantly exchanging obvious "dirty talk"?
What about them definitely having some fun together in their tent?

Listen ist okay that the FF15 main cast is gay, kudos for Square to including a complete gay cast into their game. However how they represent gay people is a travesty. Not all gay men are girly and loud queers like this cast tries to depict.

Maybe I haven't gotten far enough into it, but like... none of that happens... Other than maybe the photoshooting, but that's just Prompto being Prompto.

The game as a whole suffered because of misdirection. The actual dev time of this game was only 3 years. The other 7 years were pretty much ideas that were being switched and changed time after time. The end result is what we got. A messy incoherent story with lots of plot holes / missing plot points. It is easily one of the worst Final Fantasy games in terms of story.
