Edit: oh ... yeah, you do have to hold it, not just tap it.

If you need to get away from enemies piling onto you, just tap the warp button and it will warp Noct to wherever he's facing. (regardless of where the camera is pointed at)
To hit enemy, hold the lock on button, and then tap the warp strike button.
Found a good solution for point warping! Basically press the n key on the keyboard for first person view. Forces you to face noctis the way towards the point warp marks and holding down the f key by itself will make the point warps everytime. You gotta hold down the f key until noctis warps to point
