Time limited DLC events?
Just coming from reddit.. i read about time limited events in a DLC.. i do really dislike those with a passion and it's annoying to have content locked away.. in a singleplayer game. Will this apply to the PC version? if that's the case, i'm not sure i really want to buy it any longer.

Locking away content with a timer just ruins the fun of a game( atleast for me, personally), and kind of forces completionist players to play their game when the developers/publishers want to. I was really looking forward for FFXV..

As far as I know they're not even including them. One was a promo period event for AC Origins, the other was for the FF Anniversary year which is over.
It was free DLC and as Seraphna said, it was just to grab some bonus stuff.

Google "Moogle Carnival FFXV" and see for yourself. Just a little thing to grab some mediocre stuff and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ outfits. See it like an MMO easter or christmas event. Thats pretty much what it was.

I definitely agree though. That stuff, even free, is a bit nonsensical in a singleplayer game. But then again, they tried to make it seem like a special annual thing in the game's world as well, so there's that reasoning. But still...

This event does look like fun though.. but Squeenix decides to lock it away just like that? i'm probably alone on this one, but this makes me almost want to not buy it. This is a really stupid decision they've made.. in FFXIV online i'd understand, but here? not at all.

It's against the law to do things without a license . The Assasin's Creed thing for instance is timed because it was an agreement between Ubisoft and Square Enix. You don't want legal troubles for Square do you?

Oh and the Anniversary event for Final Fantasy's 30th Anniversary would look really dumb in any year that wasn't the 30th Anniversary.

I honestly couldn't care less about Origins.. but Anniversary or not.. locking it away and holding back content is no fun.

From what i've gathered around the interwebs.. Squeenix is planning to do more of these time limited events.. and it honestly puts me off from buying it. Sure, it's free content.. but also content that will not be accessible anymore at all once that certain event is gone. (unless they decide to bring it back..) Which makes it feel like an incomplete experience.. atleast for me personally.

I do really hope some modder may bring it back.
